Hello All,

I am new here and appreciate joining this forum.
I am a novice 36 year old and am learning nicely.

I started my learning on a very cheap Chinese keyboard but its now starting to sound like nails on a board!

I found a nicely restored “Lehmann” upright piano - but not sure if its an Adolf Lehmann or not. The seller tells me its pre 1910 so has a “closed” machine - not sure what that means...
(I have a picture not sure how to attach)

What do you guys think about this purchase? It’s for a good price as well.

This sounds like an upper dumped old piano with more than 100 years old!

Since you are new to pianos, you need a piano technician to inspect the piano. Yet, I wouldn't go for that old piano with an outdated mechanism. Also, this might cost a lot in maintenance and tuning.

If you are on a budget and can't find a good upright within your budget range, upgrade to a good digital piano. You can consider Kawai KDP110 or KDP70 or Yamaha YDP144 or YDP143. All these have 192 polyphony and the Kawai KDP110 has triple sensor.
