* wooden keys on the showroom cs11 i noticed a slight difference in highs between all keys ..isnot that an issue ? Is this really an issue ? I have owned a lot of pianos and have never even thought of it. Without actually seeing it …. it is hard to judge seriousness. With an instrument like the CS11 …. I doubt it is serious. Ask the salesperson and see what he says. Ask your child's teacher about it. On a new ca78 after few months will happen the same ? I wouldn't think so. *a ca98 is waaay up there like 5500 $ hehe .. but a question about sound . .
I do plan to get for kid a good senheiser headphones for him to practice .. cs11 would lack noticably vs the ca 78 m or its just a minor difference in this regard ? Have your child play the CS11 while listening with headphones. The sound for either will be fine. *conectivity for the kid ..hmm i can get some adapter to give him the bluetooth option like on the ca78 so he can get into some ipad lessons ? When your child is at the piano he has no need for Bluetooth option for ipad lessons. He gets his instruction with a teacher. Forget that.

Omg ? Really ? Hhhhhh a showroom 1 or 2 years old cs 11 over a new ca78 ? Is it 1 year or 2 years …. old ? Well, maybe offer even lower price …… $3500 ? I don't know. I would have to see the CS11. I do know the CS11 is a fine instrument ….. with a soundboard.

Throwing a spanner in the works.
I recently (2 days ago!) Bought a new digital piano. In the showroom I used the CA58 and 78 next to each other. 78 wins hands down on all points as already discussed.
However, I also had the Yahama CLP 645, 675 and 685 next to each other. These last two yamaha clps have a grand feel action.
After over an hour of playing them in the showroom, I actually chose the CLP645 (the 3rd from top) as the winner and saved a lot of money in the meantime
There were also lots of Rolands and Casios but the Yamaha and Kawai pianos are miles ahead I think if you get a chance to use them side by side like I had the chance to.

Forget about all that stuff.
Offer 4000$ for the CS11 and if he says … ok …. jump for it.
If he says No …. give him what he wants … and jump for it.
Omg ? Really ? Hhhhhh a showroom 1 or 2 years old cs 11 over a new ca78 ? Btw what you say about the keys ? All normal with that as well ? 🤔😊 I think he values the soundboard of the CS11 more than the newer sound generator in the CA78, in this case. But I suppose it would have been different if you could have afforded the CA98, as that has the newer sound generator of the CA78, but an even better soundboard than the CS11 has, but I suppose the CA98 is out of your budget? As I mention above if your use case is mostly using headphones and not speakers/soundboard, there is no question to me the CA78 is better than the CS11 because you'll have the newer sound generator and if you mostly use headphones, you won't miss having a soundboard instead of straight speakers. Only if the your use case is mostly speakers/soundboard does it become a toss up for me. Newer sound generation (CA78) or better sound via a soundboard (CS11)... In that case (of mostly not using headphones), I don't think you could lose either way - pick CA78 or CS11 based on your personal preference. I am in the showroom waiting .. i just got a price for the ca98 ( not pe finish ) lower then the cs11 ( pe finish ) and used ... going 99% for the ca 98 thats it

Best of both worlds, if you can afford it.

I did believe because thats what i did when i was young (but with studies 😂)hhhhh .. but i was 15 his only 9 .. sooo he should be ok for now 😆 ... anyways in that regard i will never be worried because he lovesssss playing the piano .. it started 1 year ago when i saw him in front of the tv replicating songs he was hearing on a 15 centimiter plastic toy piano .. i said on his birthday a year ago ill bring him a serious piano toy lol .. got him one around 150$ ... he loved it so much he told me he wants to leave soccer training and and instead wanted piano training ðŸ˜.. and after few months his teacher was telling us he is a natural talent and that he sees 1 in 500 like him ... so it was an easy math for me to get him the best for now .. if he'l love it and progrees i'll grt him a nice acoustic one 😉

Ok then …. Done.
I am sure the CA98 will be a good choice.
I would have chosen the New CS11 PE (Polished Ebony).
If possible, as one last step you may wish to have your son play and listen (via phones) to each of them at the store.
If not …. good luck with it … and enjoy the years ahead with your family and the music that is on its way.

he loved it so much he told me he wants to leave soccer training and and instead wanted piano training ðŸ˜.. well, well! if he voluntarily wanted to give up soccer for piano, you might have a budding concert pianist there to nurture! most boys that age would go the other way I guess, from piano to soccer! 😆

Is it just me that thinks that the discount on the CS11 that has been in the showroom for a couple of years is nothing like enough.
Honestly you will have no idea what sort of treatment the pianos on the showroom floor go through. I wouldn't even be considering it until at least 30% off compared to a brand spanking new one to make the risk worthwhile.

The CA98 is a great choice. It just won't look as nice as the CS11 in the living room. I was thinking of your wife's opinion.

I know right ? Today i was there and saw the cs11 get put into naylon .. and had a closer look at it .. i mean if the buyer would sit and take his time like i did today he would pay another 300$ for a brand new cs11 in box

Someone on some thread convinced me that the CA series look great too giving the pianist the feel of a grand piano and not an upright one ☺ .. but not to lie i think like you the cs11 is much much sexier and + pe finish .. but i chose the better soundboard and the newer engine over the sexy looks .. my wife will need to settle of with me being the good looking one in the loving room ðŸ˜
