Last night I tried out the new Bechstein instrument pack, and was stunned to find that I actually liked it. I used to like everything about Pianoteq except the sound. Now I can see myself actually enjoying playing the Bechstein. Looking at the buying options, I see they say Stage comes with 2 instrument packs "of your choice". I somehow had the impression that the 2 packs received with Stage were fixed to Steinway D and K2. (Now I can't find the forum post that gave me that impression). But I want to make sure--will I be able to select Bechstein and something other than D or K2 as the included 2 packs?

Well, I kind of assumed it might be faster to find someone with relevant experience in a friendly community sharing the same interests than wait for an answer from customer support on a weekend night.

I bought Steinway Model D, Model B and Bechstein Grand. Personally I preference is Model B > Bechstein > Model D.

It might be qucker.

But it might not be correct.

I would put my faith in the answer I get from Pianoteq.

You could choose VB. I chose Grotian and Steinway B upon purchase.

You could contact Pianoteq support and tell them you bought it back when D and K2 were a requirement and ask to swap. Don't know if they would agree, but I think it is certainly worth a try. I might do that myself.

Yes, you can choose whatever two instruments you like. Bechstein is also my favorite

As from 2019, all new purchases include a number of instrument packs as follows: Pianoteq Stage: 2, Pianoteq Standard: 3, Pianoteq Pro: 4. These can be selected, free of choice, during registration.

When I bought Pianoteq some years ago, you could choose only between two flavors: accoustic or electric. Accoustic flavor used to include D and K, just as de first post of this thread describes... I see things have changed since then shocked

I bought it last year and I could choose between flavors but the packs were fixed.
K2 / D vs. some of the non piano instruments (I think E-Piano / percussion).

So, I see they changed that and you get more included packs when buying higher versions. Cool. Too bad it doesn't work after the fact.

It's a very nice thought, and if it were possible, I would certainly swap the D for just about anything else. But methinks Modartt wouldn't agree to that ...
