No Carey you are not alone.

But still what James calls an algorithm might be close to what we do while interpreting a piece. It might well be a zillion steps of algorithm though.
I know it sounds weird to compare one's inner feelings to an algorithm. But this might be the way James is expressing himself .

All said, IMO still James has accomplished a lot being a self taught player.

Being a scientist I'm always open to new experimentations wheter they turn out to be a succes or not. I would just stay low on titles because I find an algorithm for musicality sounds a lot like We discovered cold fusion or Neutrinos are faster than light.

Interested to see the results though.

Wow given the amounts of excellent composer it analyzed it's incredible how horrible it turned out to be eek.

I, for one, welcome the appearance of waifus in this thread, or any thread for that matter (though I couldn't open the link). I am a big anime fan, though perhaps not to the level of an otaku. I lack the time to devote to anime, alas.

As a side note, I'm seeing more and more youngsters wanting to play anime music, some of which is fairly sophisticated. I'm perfectly happy to teach it, so long as the classics aren't neglected.
