I am a fairly new piano student and have been looking to replace an old piano. I have found on a local website a literally like new f-130. I have negotiated with the owner and their best price is $700.
I know I can buy a new casio or yamaha on a major website for that or less. I guess my question is, is the Roland worth it.
I have read many reviews on this forum, which have been a great help and most seem to be good. I also realize that this piano is at least 2-4 years old. I have played it, and also have tried the casio px160 and a few Yamahas at a local retailer. The Roland seems to have a much more realistic feel. I have no requirement for Bluetooth or any other connectivity.
Thanks so much for your opinions

It's still perfectly comparable with Roland's current "budget models" like FP-30, RP-102, F-140R and RP-501R, so it would be an option for a new F-140R for example.

The question always is what can you get for the same money as brand new? Maybe an FP-30? But it's not in a nice cabinet though there's the optional stand and triple pedal bar available.

The Roland should last a long time; maybe the action on the F130 isn't so decent as that om the later models? Check this out; it might even be better/looser due to use.

I had that piano and loved the action, the sound, and the ivory feel keys. Actually I loved everything about it. But I wanted more of an arranger keyboard but with 88 weighted keys so I sold it to buy a Havian 30. If I had had the room I would have kept the Roland. I miss it! $700 is a bit high since the successor is now at least a year old I think. Maybe you could negotiate that price down a bit

Thanks so much for your replies. I have decided to go for it as I was able to play the f140 at a local dealer this evening. It seems as though it is the exact same piano with Bluetooth. I really couldn't tell the difference.
