Nice to have your comments

With Sauter uprights in mind, Is it fair to say that small sized uprights maybe more suitable for beginners than taller ones … I am only interested for upright..

Thanks

No, only for the sake that smaller pianos are
* easier to place
* cost less

Some might argue that a large piano
* might overpower a tiny room
* dominates aesthetically

As for looks, Sauter has a piano for every taste.

I thought LarryMan or others interested in buying a Sauter upright piano or grand may interested I the following

https://www.sauter-pianos.de/en

Regarding North America from a little research via the Web sites
I have tried to find. The Sauter Dealers seem to be Beethoven Pianos in New York ,apart from this I think there is Euro Pianos in Miami.
Kassman Pianos in San Francisco may still have Sauter.Then there is the piano dealer in Seattle who sells Sauter.
In Vacouver B.C. we have the mega dealer with chain stores the Lower Mainland.

Oh I included that historical youtube .Please watch it ,the opening is not very good (looks a bad movie )It then gets much better .It is worth watching just for some of the sound effects and the music especially further on !

I thought that James plays rather well.I did not include the other clip of where the piano was voiced in a "warmer"tone.At least I have included some popular music.

Wzkit1 Why not post one of your many recordings you have made playing your Sauter Delta?

Not that many I am completely happy with, but here is one, though not in the best recorded sound (dynamic range compression due to smartphone recording) .Note that mine isn't your typical Sauter, having softer and heavier Abel hammers that were customised for my tastes

Thanks Wzkit,
I not know much about Albeniz's music.For a cell phone recording that is not bad ! It's nice to have a Sauter owner share on this thread.
My cell records very badly, so I do not think I will record !
I found a few more recordings on Sauter pianos .There is another by James.This time on a more "warmly" voiced Sauter Omega.This is on the 2n link.Bach,Chopin and Debussy on Sauter.Enjoy !

Yes and I rather liked the way the pianist played that Brahms Rhapsody, not too fast ,poetic and yet dramatic and dynamic.
I do not know what level you play, but it is not as difficult as it
sounds.

This video probably best demonstrates the beautiful treble sustain of my Delta

Thanks both! The Liszt consolation recording was made a couple of days after the hammers were filed and reshaped. While that initially resulted in a brighter tone than i was accustomed to, after a couple of days, i noticed a mellower sound emerging even without additional needling, which is the more balanced tone that you hear on the video. I wonder if the hammers absorbed a little humidity and softened as a result, bringing more cushion to the tone.

I thought I would include an video recording of a Masterclass 122 upright.This good recording gives you an idea what Sauter uprights
sound like at thier best.
