I recently purchased the Faber-Hanon book. You can watch videos of the exercises on the Faber website. I bought it to help with learning good technique as a returning pianist after many years away. The goal is not playing the exercises rapidly, but rather, playing them in a relaxed, tension-free manner, in hopes of this manner of playing becoming an ingrained habit. I am just now working my way through the preparatory exercises, so I really can't comment further about the long term effectiveness of the book.

I am doing the Adventure Book Adult all in one/two with the IOS app and the books. When connected to my digital piano, it is great. It really helps with timing and pushing me to play a piece at a faster than comfortable tempo. It records your playing and the virtual keyboard lets me know where my errors are and what I need to work on. The cost for the in app purchase is a one time cost at such a reasonable price, I consider it free. i like that the songs are up and down the keyboard more than Alfred's where the left hand does mostly just cords.
