Hi! I am not new to the forum but have been absent for a while. I am wondering if any of you have tried Skype practice or performing. I am thinking I would maybe like to have a person or group to practice Performing with. Any one interested?

Although not Skype, something like this already exists and you can try it out. A few people from PW are already on it. Take a look at this thread for a description and explanation of how to use it.

What level were you looking for? I tried Skype with one other person and didn’t find it went well but I’d be willing to try again
The edit is that Skype was patchy (not the playing grin

Intermediate I think. Currently working on Chopin Raindrop Prelude and Debussy Reverie, Gottschaulk The Dying Poet, and a couple of Christopher Norton Micro Jazz pieces. I would like to find some Skype buddies to practice Performing with/for.

Ok - I’m in midst of prepping for exam so that’s something I’d be interested in I need to get over my terrible stagefright! I’d only have 5pieces +2 studies to share until I sit the exam in June. So it could be a bit boring lol

We’ve done this before on our Online Piano Part Thread. I’d be willing to do it again. I’m actually just starting Raindrop also. (see profile pic).

I love this idea but I am using Discord for this purpose (Pinano server). I already have 30 hours of practice time and participated in their most recent recital (I played 4-5 pieces). I love chatting about music with the other Discord folks.

I need to be able to use my iPad and although downloaded the Discord App, it seems like I may need a PC?

I am in Atlantic Canada time zone for anyone interested in Skype.

You don't need a PC for the Discord app.

That’s weird. I’ll check setting as I’ve had them before. I’ll try to send you one
