It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
I'm not even sure if I can ask this on this forum BUT has anyone in the Vancouver. BC bought a Kawai or SK from Loewen in Richmond in the last couple of years. And if so what is the after sales support like? I'm very much considering a GX3 or Sk2 from them but it would be my first piano over $5k and my first acoustic so I want to get it right, and the process be smooth.
Current Setup: CLP-380, Ivory II, Logic Pro X, OSX 10.8.5 , AKAI EIE Pro, Genelec Monitors.
While waiting for a response to your question, you can listen to a presentation of the Shigeru Kawai SK2 from another Canadian dealer at the other side of the country, that I remeber I watched a few years back.
Interesting comment about demographics of an SK2 buyer was a person from late 30s to early 50s.
I have not purchased a piano from them, of course, but I have worked with them quite a bit in recent years. Loewen is a very high quality dealership, and from my experience they take very good care of their customers! We rarely hear complaints from people who bought a piano from Loewen, as the store seems to prep their pianos and do great follow-up service.
The day I visited Loewen I tried a two k300 .The one seemed in tune and tone and touch were fine. The other K300 buzzed madly when I played the low Bflat ,otherwise it a seemed a better piano. I asked the sales person what was wrong .He called a tuner over and told him to tune the note .The only ones who could hear the buzzing was my husband and myself . I tried the K500 which like the other k300 was fine . The used Bösendorfer grand in the store lacked clarity of tone ? Perhaps it needed voicing ?I did know .Not wanting a grand I did not ask about it .Since I had never played a Bösendorfer I was curious ,but dissapointed . I do not know what it was with those two pianos or if it says something about dealer service ?
