That's like 1 post per day on average....I guess that means you've progressed as well on the piano over that time!

When I joined PW, I wondered how anyone could post 10,000 posts - even in ten years. I thought that by the time I reached 5,000 posts, I'd be dead or incapacitated, or both, as I was already no spring chicken (not even an egg-laying hen with springs) when I joined.

But after I passed 10,000 with no discernible signs of either (that I noticed anyway, though others might have a different opinion - not that I cared wink ), I gave myself 100,000. If - when - I pass 100,000 posts, I'll give myself 1,000,000..... smirk

I was going to brag when I hit 22,000 (3.410 posts per day), but that was in poor taste, I thought, so I decided not to. smile

Cheers!

Here is what the ranges mean:

0.0 - 0.5 Shy people
0.5 - 1.0 Normal people with a focus in life but like piano , but realise there is life elsewhere and are responsible and reliable workers.
1.0 - 2.0 You are not concentrating on your job.
2.0 - 3.0 You are concentrating even less and worrying about others too much.
3.0 - 4.0 You really love the sound of you own voice and the previous two, you should be warned by your boss or possibly be sacked !
4.0 - 5.0 You should be really really really worried unless you get paid to post on PW.

Occasional peaks are okay when on holiday or enjoying free time, but at all times your average daily postcount should not be > 1 in the long run, if yes, consult help, if > 3 do it asap.

There you have it ! grin

I am such a slacker...

This is a post almost empty of content in a vain attempt to get my post count up!

On the subject of post counts, I really don't care. It just doesn't matter that much to me.

Phew, I‘m just glad his thread is so full of meaningful, well-thought-out contributions to this important subject.

Such as mine. Yes yes *nods*

In the first year, I of signing up, I would read posts occasionally but rarely comment on a topic. Today I post messages more frequently but only for topics that are relevant but still less than 1K. To get to 10K or more you'd have to post multiple replies to many topics everyday. On a calculator if you divide 10,000 into 365 days you get around 27 posts per day.

I spend at least an hour practicing my keyboard and my post add up to no more than 5/day.

Most of the posters with very high post counts have been members for close to 20 years.

This is Post #6 for me. Which puts me in the 0.54 post-per-day range. That's assuming my math is correct... Each and every post weighs heavily when I've only been here eleven days!

Some people are just posting nonsense to increase their post count, otherwise would we they do that? smile

The beginners should stick together. There is strength in numbers. When a weaker animal strays from the herd, then...

I doubt anyone posts solely to increase that number that doesn't really matters for anything after all. :P

Teachers's forum is basically there for teachers to talk between themselves. Other pianists are welcome, as long as what we say is relevant.

I'd say not to judge every teacher from what you'll read there, the same way you should not judge every beginner from the interventions in ABF. Some people can create some controversy and don't represents the majority. wink

I have a wonderful teacher and I wish that anyone could have a suitable teacher for their needs and goals!

That's out of the subject though.

Grats cmb. I guess it's been a while you are wandering in here. laugh

My piano journey from day 1

Has the scarcity of new subject matter, or the fatigue from the constant repetition of old subject matter, brought us to this? Really?

We must be deep in the winter doldrums and totally bored out of our skulls...

When I was in Dubrovnik this past summer, where the Kings Landing scenes of GoT are filmed, I got to sit in the Red Keep's Iron Throne for some photos. (A bit embarrassing, actually. smile ) It is actually very poorly upholstered!
