Seems silly and gimmicky. Surely Amazon is paying Roland to do this. Do you need an Internet connection for this to work? Do you need to sign in with your Amazon account? Creepy.

Can you stream Amazon Music directly to the keyboard via Alexa? How good does it sound?

This is NOT a feature! More like a major breach of the buyer's privacy.

At best it's an example of adding technology to a product for technology's sake. And that never ends well.

Student: Alexa, can you teach me to play the Piano?
Alexa: No, get a teacher.

Student: Alexa, which is better sampled or modeled pianos?
Alexa: I am biased in this matter, those modeled pianos are my cousins.

Student: Alexa, what do you think of my rendition of Claire de Lune?
Alexa: I can play it better.

Student: Alexa, tell me a piano joke.
Alexa: Sure, let me play back your rendition of Clair de Lune.

Student: Alexa, what’s the best digital piano?
Alexa: The one you’re not using.

More my take on Alexa.

ALEXA PLAY PINK FLOYD.
Alexa: sorry I didn't catch that
ALEXA PLAY PINK FLOYD
Alexa: Did you say Pink droid?

Me and Alexa don't get along in this house.

All these years playing and I still consider myself a novice.

Perhaps Alexa enables it to link up with Amazon MTurk so you can get someone to actually play it for you. laugh

Amazon paying Roland? Don't think Jeff can afford it, can he? He's only got a hundred and fif--damn, I got started, then. Donnn't. Stop that, now. Don't make waves.

Well what else you can add? Making new samples and new actions take years. This is a cheap new feature that give them exposure. I am sure amazon would prominent feature it... useless but not bad marketing.

That's how it works. Google pays Apple billions to default to Google search. I don't see Alexa as any different. Amazon gets a ton of value out of it and collects a ton of user data.

Amazon is turning into a giant surveillance machine... literally. They are the front runner for a massive DOD contract including facial recognition tech. They even take pictures of people's front doors now, believe or not.

I could engage and agree (or believe) wholeheartedly...alas, the piano buffs around here would get mighty miffed. At the very least. cry
