Hi all(: I'm currently looking to upgrade my piano but am having a tough time deciding. I chanced upon a display set Yamaha U3 silent today which was on sale. It was priced 3k cheaper that a new set and only has been on display for 3 months. However, I didn't like the key touch as its light. But most people swear by Yamaha and its supposedly a professional piano. It is also a silent piano so I can practice as and when I like. But that said, I already own a digital Roland fp30 keyboard.

I like the hailun h33p/7u and Kawais touch as it is heavy and can train up my finger strength esp since I'm going on to grade 8 abrsm. But I'm not sure if it will be fun to tire out my fingers. And how long can the hailun last in future? I heard it causes loose keys after a few years? The hailun has got a very good buy back scheme and guarantee compared to the rest. And the price is definitely tempting! The tone is grand and nice too, though can be abit loud of my apartment.

The urgent question here is: Should I be getting the display set u3 silent? I'm pretty sure if i don't get it by tomorrow, it'd be sold quick. Or should I just try out Hailun h33p? Or save up for a decent kawai k800? Thank You in advance! (:

Consider getting a refurbished U3 silent from a reputable shop, like this: https://markgoodwinpianos.co.uk/pianos/yamaha-u3-made-in-1979-2915xxx-manc

If you ever need to sell it, I suspect you will be able to do so for 90% of what you paid. I doubt that could be said of buying a new U3, even if it is discounted 3k.

Thanks! I've decided that it might be best to just get a normal acoustic piano.
