The US Federal Government has an office associated with every US Government department and agency called "the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Businesses" (OSDBU). This organizational unit name remains the same regardless of what the specific agency is. Those of us that work with the US Government regularly just pronounce this acronym as "oz-da-boo" as it is awkward to spell it out each time as O-S-D-B-U. Every time I see Ojustaboo's handle, I'm reminded of OSDBU... LOL

Oh, I've realized that I posted in here a little while ago, and that I changed my username since (why? might you ask. Well, because people tends to mispronounce it and if pronounced plainly, it sounds as... silly things in French. As long as I only used it on written media, it wasn't so bad. I didn't know how people pronounced it in their head. But in the last months, I've join some Discord channels and people started calling me this way. I realized that the only person from which it wasn't weird to hear my former username was from my childhood friend who gave me that nickname in the first place, and who never mispronounces it ^^. I then decided to change my username on most of the web platforms I joined).

So it is kind of obvious what my current username means.
I was seeking for something that would be related to my passion for music, so Cadenza seems appropriate. I wanted something relatively short (I hesitated with Unacorda, but that's kind of long to say out loud. It would have been nice though, considering I'm a shy and quiet person). Then, Vvi to refer to V-vi progression, the interrupted cadence, which is my favorite cadence. laugh

My piano journey from day 1
Started piano on February 2016.
Pieces I'm working on :
- Rameau, Les Sauvages
- Mozart, K545, 1st mov
- Chopin, nocturne op. posth. in C# minor
- Debussy, Golliwog's cakewalk
- Pozzoli, E.R. 427, etude no. 6

Neat! Although I'll always think of you by your old handle, which I thought was nice smile

So CadenzaVvi, are you on the Discord channels for classical piano then, such as Discord pinano? I know that pinano has a biweekly recital that I've been following, but haven't participated in yet.

BTW, have you tried Twitch? There is a large group of classical pianists there also - I tried it for the first time on Saturday.

Oh, no, I'm on Discord mainly for gaming (board and video games alike). But I'll certainly have a look into that. It might be really interesting! (If you happen to have an invite link, it would be great wink ).

I'm also on Twitch for video games purpose, and I've been juggling with the idea of doing some "full dress rehearsal" before my exams, as a practice of being stressed while playing to perform better. laugh
I wonder if there is a way to have two twin-accounts to keep apart the gaming stuff and the piano stuff. I should have a look into that too.

Forget it about the link! I just found it. It helps when you figure out that Google automatically change your search from "pinano discord channel" to "piano discord channel".

OK. I guess you found it. In case anyone else is looking for the Discord pinano server in the future, it's here. And video recordings of the previous Discord biweekly recitals are here. As I announced here, Discord just hosted an Internet piano competition. It'll be interesting to see the entries.

Liebestraum #3 by Franz Liszt is my most beloved of Liszt's easy piano compositions and one that I learned to play that gave me the greatest feeling of accomplishment. Since that time many years ago, Liszt has been my favorite classical piano composer. I still become entranced listening to much of his magnificent music by various artists. It was a stroke of simple luck to play with the letters of "listener" and add a "z" after the "s". It was shortly after joining PianoWord that I discovered it and began using it. One of my current favorites is this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpVq_j7u7YQ

I think with a slight slur your name becomes "Adjustable", which I think is pretty cool.

I'm Downhill_Fast for a variety of reasons. First, my two most common nicknames were taken. Second, I tend to gravitate towards mountain biking as my favorite outdoor hobby, and going downhill fast comes with the territory. I also appreciate the fact that, colloquially, when something goes downhill fast it means things got bad, quickly, and I somewhat expected that of my piano playing when I initially signed up.

My user name is from the joyful memories of bicycling & hiking around Acadia National Park in Maine. We've introduced Maine to a lot friends over the years and it's always a pleasure to meet someone that also keeps a special place of Maine in their heart. 😊

Lady - 2 of our favorite vacation trips were to Maine - one along the coastline and one in the southwest mountain region - beautiful state (and not just Acadia National Park)!

I always thought it was a skiing reference. Love mountain biking - but careful on those fast downhills!
