Not many of us about--most people trawl around, and buy the best one. Some--like me, for example--end up not doing that, for whatever reason, and end up dissatisfied with what we bought. Swapping digital pianos could go on forever. Well, not for me--Pianoteq GOOD ENOUGH. Thanks for the headsup, TS.
I forgot to answer your question to me of a few days ago of, "why Pianoteq if no bongos?"
Well, because even though I don't hear bongos, I've always been particular about my audio, going as far as to spend many thousands on my system(s), tens of thousands of $s if I count over the last 30 years (see below amusing Reddit r/headphones cartoon from a few days ago)
. The FP30 just sounded like a toy piano to me. I didn't like the sound. It was demotivating to play. And my thousands of $s of audio gear was simply not un-toying the toy sound for me. The problem was with the sound generation in the piano, not my $1K headphone amp and $1K headphones. And when I started with the FP30, I had not yet discovered PW and this digital forum, but I did a lot of googling in my dissatisfaction. And although there were many VSTs out there, the only one I encountered offering a free trial was Pianoteq. So within 2 weeks, I was able to address my dissatisfaction and have transformed it into satisfaction with Pianoteq. As I mentioned before, Pianoteq makes me sound a lot better (of a pianist) than I am
or I even deserve! LOL
