Hi,
although I play the piano this is my first solo piano piece. However I prefer orchestral music and wonder if anyone has any idea how to orchestrate this piece.

Yes, it can! There are lots of options, but one that strikes me is in the beginning have the strings do portato chords (left hand notes?) And something like oboe for the melody. You'd want to change it up as the piece progresses.
