Additional info:A while back I heard the orchestra version on radio. Shortly after found an arrangement for piano.
Due to my hectic schedule performing with a music group, I didn't have time to work on the whole piece and decided to upload a condensed version.
This piece is work in progress. Feel free to comment...

Title of piece:Moszkowski - Study in F, Op 91 No 4
Composer:Moritz Moszkowski
Duration:01:09
Source of music:Sheet music
Instrument used:Yamaha Arius YDP-163 (I prefer my acoustic)
Recording method:Direct output from the digital into Pianoteq, then into audacity for saving as MP3.
Technical feedback wanted:Yes
Additional info:I've hardly played at all this year - working and studying psychology hasn't left much time for piano. But semester is over, and I've just picked up this piece in the past four weeks or so, primarily for building technique. It's not particularly pretty, but a good technical exercise none the less.... I know my tempo is a bit uneven in this recording, and I speed up at the end (nearly there! nearly there!). And I had to do a little edit in the middle, sorry :-( - but I haven't submitted anything for over a year, so this is a first go at getting back on the bike (the bench?)

We're just heading into the monsoon season where I live, the sky is low and dense, cicadas are loud, and we await imminent rain. It's beautiful.

Lunch is about to be eggs from my chickens, on toast with pesto - yum!

Duration:03:20
Source of music:Sheet music with slight improvisation.
Instrument used:Mason & Hamlin BB
Recording method:Zoom H2 into Audacity.
Technical feedback wanted:Yes
Additional info:This piece was one of the more difficult ones for me to learn as it requires you to play both hands extremely far apart throughout the entire piece. The spread at times can be 5 octaves apart and since I'm not a chameleon, I must play one hand blindly while concentrating on the other hand way at the other end of the keyboard! It took a while to get this down, but I'm happy with the end results all things considered.

Additional info:Honestly, feel free to skip my submission... this piece is not very nice and I don't make it any more interesting, but I didn't want to skip the recital altogether, and all the other beautiful pieces that I've learned last summer are not completely ready yet.

This is the first piece in the RCM Etudes Level 8 book. It was written in 1933 by Alec Rowley and it's supposed to teach "LH melody and rhythmic vitality". I spent 5 hours on it over two weeks, and I'm definitely ready to put it aside (i.e. sick of it). Both my video and mp3 have mistakes in the final part, and overall balance, clarity, and pedal are far from perfect, but I'm quite happy about the tempo (which is the maximum speed at which I can manage repeated chords and pedal changes) and forward momentum. It even has a glimpse of melodic interest here and there laugh

Instrument used:Kawai RX2
Recording method:Zoom H4n

Additional info:Such a beautiful piece, quite ambitious for myself, and thankfully my teacher agreed to work on this with me this summer. Only made it 4 pages into this 11 page monster before deciding I've had enough! It was shelved before I could make a proper recording, and dusted it off this week for this recital.

Please forgive the wrong notes (and the liberal amounts of rubato), even after copious polishing and practice I just can't seem to get all the notes right... Still, I'm happy to have learned it, one of my (many) favorite Chopin pieces. Thanks for listening.

Additional info:This is my first time recording my newly purchased Estonia L210. It'll still need a few good months of breaking-in and voicing to reach its full potential but I absolutely love the treble tones right out of the box. As you can hear this piano is extremely 'polite' with it's tone and without harshness, and the bass lacks percussiveness. At the moment I find that this piano suits the classical or baroque styles better, thus I've decided to play some light-hearted Clementi.

Additional info:I was hoping to get to a decent place to be able to record this piece for this recital - there are still some things I want to straighten out with it. A couple weeks ago, I asked my teacher to let me know what I needed to work on to get it to the "good enough to record" spot, and that ended up kind of tearing it totally down for days. It's better now, but even so, I still want to work on a few of the spots where I'm hesitant, I need to get the rhythm a little better with more pronounced accents, and iron out the pedaling.

This was a super fun piece to learn though, with that challenging section in the middle where the hands are all squished up together and you've got to figure out how to play it.

Additional info:I am working on this piece for some time now. Last year for almost six months, and now for the last 2 months with 5 other pieces for a 20 minute recital I have next week.
I decided to record this piece for this online recital because it is the one piece I struggle the most with when performing. I really like playing it, but I almost can't play it for an audience without mistakes (audience can also be virtual, when microphone is on; my nerves do not discriminate).
I am not completely satisfied with this recording, because of some unevenness in rhythm and a blurred ornament. Slipped fingers I do not count as mistakes, they happen smile
Thank you for listening and your comments.

Additional info:The piece is one of the most famous and beautiful tangos.

It is widely known from film music (for example Scent of a Woman)

I think that this is one of the best arrangement you can find on Youtube so far.

It's full of great ideas with a large span of dynamics.
As a result, the romantic piece has gained a lot of drama.

Playing this cover gives me a lot of joy and satisfaction.
