Does anyone know how Lego Ideas work? I don’t want to create an account but I see this project is looking for supporters.

As I understand it, if an idea gets 10,000 supporters, it is then put in front of a review board. If it passes that, it has a chance to become an official set.
The piano already has almost 5,000 supporters in a very short time, so there's probably a good chance to reach 10,000. Then it's up to the board and Lego, I guess.
I would buy it. smile

I would buy one just for the novelty of it.

I love it. I voted for it as well. I would definitely buy one.... and maybe buy a number of them to give away to clients, depending on the price.

I just rewatched the video and noticed a detail that invalidates the whole project: The middle pedal lifts the dampers! eek

(OK, I guess I could live with that - we'll call it artistic license. wink).

Simply amazing! I can’t imagine how someone could do that. Especially the action; hammers, etc. confused

Thanks Jobert for your detailed response explaining how LEGO pitched products works. I think this would prove to be a very challenging project for them regarding manufacturing- price point/affordability for buyer.

The ideas submitted to this official LEGO site must be made of 100% non-modified LEGO parts. For example the pedals on this piano are skis :-) I hope all parts come from the standard LEGO set, because If this build also uses parts from LEGO Technic or Architecture, then chances of it being approved are going to be way lower. So, there would be no manufacturing challenges. But many ideas require a large number of pieces, making them too expensive. Others are too complex to assemble and would become a niche product. But first this build needs to get the required 10.000 votes before it goes up to the review board. I have already voted ;-)

That seat looks like some sort of torture device smile Nevertheless, adding my support, my son and I are both huge lego and piano fans!
