Hello Forum
I was recently blessed to be able to buy all the above boards
Partly because of G.a.s and partly to see what was going to the the best for me.

I’ve discovered some interesting things about me as a musician and piano sounds in general.

I will update this as I delve deeper into these instruments

First off I wasn’t to say I won’t be keeping the modx8
It’s a great board with great sounds but the keybed is suspect and
I feel I were to get this board in the future I would get the 61 or 76
Either of those platforms are great choices.

I bought the
Rd2000 even though I didn’t like the pianos but I decided that I could always play vsts through the USB port so who cares about the pianos
But after getting the board home and tweaking it as well as doing th uodate j realized something this keyboard likes to be played with intention.

I realized it when I was using the Kronos as a midi controller
And I compared the sound of the midi controlled rd2000 vs the sound of the rd when I was actually playing the rd keys

The Kronos controlled rd2000 sounded more resonant and alive

I said how can this be?

So then I dug in a little harder when I was playing the rd2000 keys and the. I was able to get that muted boxy sound to go away
In any event the update makes a world of difference

Of course the Kronos pianos sound great

I only plan on keeping one or two of these boards so
As I go through the sounds and bring them to my church gig
The Dexibell hasn’t arrived yet but I will be sure to give my impressions

With respect it’s difficult to talk because you appear to be making a statement and not asking any questions.

I’m exagerating a bit but it’s like me saying I currently own 4 cars but prefer to only have one car, maybe two at the most. One is red which is nice, the blue car is more practical but I’m not keen on the colour, the black car is nice but shows the dirt and the orange car is stunning but brings too much attention to itself. Now let’s talk.

It appears that you are sensitive to keyboard feel so keep the one that feels the best, only you can answer that question.

Sounds a good idea to get a MODX6 and just keep 2 keyboards.

People can offer their observations without asking questions, no issue there!

I have the RD 2000 and I wished they would have put the Rd 800 action in it , it felt closer to the action I have in my Mp11 which is my favorite , I know what your talking about that when you get to the bottom of the key bed you really have to press harder . I also have the Dexibell S3 which has more of an action that you would find on an electric piano , like wurly or Rhodes . The S3 doent have a ton of sounds but they do have are pretty nice , if I had enough money I would get the S9 because it has more sounds and space for upgraded sounds .

Watch out for those MODX6/7 keybeds, as many forums see gruntled players disliking the action for lack of nuance.
I went for the MODX8 and actually like that action a lot. It’s the standard Yamaha GHS action (as in their P125 piano) but allows for some very articulate piano playing, both acoustic and electric. Don’t forget that most of the MODX electric pianos are FM ones, calling for nuances playing the MODX6/7 keybeds won’t cater for.

Ok I received the Dexibell it does sound really good but the casing of the s7 looks like it isn’t meant for the road it looks like it belongs in the home sort of like a yamaha p series.
That being said I am pretty impressed with the eps and the pianos

Hands down some pretty darn impressive work.

I did return the modx8
To be honest I miss it already.
I love the performance aspect and the sounds it had.
I felt I could emulate any current production song

Ok no looking back perhaps I will by the ‘modx7 in the future or even the montage 7 down the road.

Back to the dexibell
Now that it has arrived I am doing comparisons to the rd2000 to decide which is to remain.

I will be honest it’s not going to be easy
Now that I did the update on the rd2000 and I am loving the sounds
And playing pianoteq through my Mac the rd2000 is stellar
Comfortable and might I say reassuring
Faders amount and quality of sounds.

On the other hand the dexibell has me playing sounds and articulations I have never played before simply because of the clarity of sound especially everything above middle c

If it weren’t for the cheesy look of the dexibell I would have returned
the rd2000 immediately but like I said it just looks like it belongs in a living room. In the corner not on a stage.

I do like the music stand nice touch
And the keys have This feeling of being texture.

ALSO the decibel NAILED the mks20 ep1 and ep2 with chorus
Better than even keyscape or mks sensation or the rd2000

How did they do that?

Just on that alone it’s worth a listen

Here’s another somewhat strange discovery
While playing the pianoteq Steinway D through the Mac speakers
And the rd2000 through monitors
The piano combination yielded some extremely expressive and intimate results

I remember thinking to myself wow this pianoteq is really good and expressive only to realize I couldn’t really hear the pianoteq ir was the rd2000 that’s I was hearing. When I turned the volume of the rd2000 down only then could i hear the pianoteq coming through. The Mac speakers

It was a mistake and the Mac volume was barely audible
I was playing quietly because it was 4:00 am

So the rd2000 volume was very low too but still drowning out the pianoteq

I will have to revisit this combination of pianoteq and rd2000 stage 1.5 update
I’ve always been a fan of layering pianos so this may be the thing to do I will try it live this sunday

I need to update my Roland , just wondering is your S7 updated , the newest is os 4.06 ,and have you tried loading any of the platinum piano sounds . I have the Japanese Platinum grand but they also have the German , Italian and American Platinum grands . On the dexibell I can change the piano sound by turning off the reverb and turning up the hammer noise to 5 and also dialing back the filter wheel a little .

No
I have no idea

I will look into this today
I am still trying to justify getting rid of the rd2000
But right now my only issue is the weight

I will look into the s7 updates today

Thanks

Interesting on changing hammer noise and reverb settings

I will check this out as well

What I will say
Is that after playing on dexibell for a few days
And then going back to the Kronos

I hate to say it but the dexibell sounds more realistic
I am shocked
I didn’t notice it at first
It was only after
going back to it after a few days away from the Kronos

I’m thinking I must Be mistaken so I will do it in reverse
Play only the Kronos then go to the dexibell
