Hi folks,
I've just bought a used Yamaha MPX 70N (E290411) and am after a bit of help..
The sellers were an older couple who hadn't played it for 10 years and bought it because they liked the colour and as such didn't know about how it works. They told me that when they bought it they were told it was 'being fitted for Disklavier but the buyer pulled out so the shop sold it without the box.' That's all the info they could give me. They weren't after that feature so just used it as an acoustic piano. The practice pedal makes the piano play silently but when it's plugged into the wall, there is no output from the headphone jack. There is a power plug and an old looking rectangular vga style connecter coming out the back of the piano, and inside the piano there is a ton of cabling and a big motherboard-looking thing fitted inside.
I'm not after the Disklavier features particularly but being able to play with headphones would be sweet. My question is does anyone know how I might get this working as a silent piano and/or a good techinician in London, UK
who I can call out? I've spoken to a couple of piano shops who recommended speaking to Yamaha who were really unhelpful as I hadn't bought the piano from them.
It's a good acoustic piano in great condition and I got a nice price so the electrics working wasn't a deal breaker, but any thoughts would be gratefully received!!
Cheers!.
