was wondering if anyone has noticed a slight buzzing on notes, especially in the middle range....it's not much, and i assumed that it was just the way the sample was made......but i thought i'd check before mailing kawai....thanks......

I haven't noticed anything like that with mine. However, I am not really good at distinguishing the finer points of piano sounds.

A lack of talent does not stop you from learning piano. It just takes longer and you have to work harder.

Is the buzz coming from the speakers or when you're listening through headphones?

And... is there a chance of a ground loop? (if you remove USB / MIDI / etc. cables, does the buzz go away?)

I noticed “buzzing’ like resonance, through speakers, at high volume, with certain keys in the high end of middle octave and there abouts, on an ES7. It seemed as though the right speaker grill was resonating. This noise resolved after moving the slab/stand further from the (rear) wall. IIRC there is also a “wall” setting in the menu.

If it is resonance of the speaker grill, you should be able to find the exact notes it's effecting. I brought a pair of iLoud Micro monitors and had to return them because one of the speakers buzzed at A4, A#, and B4 (most strongly at A#).

hi! I had the same problem with my ES8 that i decided to sell a few months ago.
Only through the speakers, i think it's a common problem with the bundled internal speakers. It was a shame because if not probablly i never sold it.

good luck

Perhaps the sellers boxed your old one back up and resold it to Yankovich.

That isn't unheard of unfortunately.

oops....nope it wasn't the grille.......i recorded the midrange notes through the earphones, and the buzz was audible....so i sent the recording to kawai.....so i'll wait a couple weeks and see if they respond and agree it's not natural, or say it is just the way the sample was recorded......we'll see..........

I've checked the Kawai CN37 and CA48 using SK Grand sampling. YES, it most definitely buzz/resonate horribly in the center of the keyboard, both on the speakers and on the headphones, so it must be the SK sound sampling issue. I love Kawai openness and airy sound but this resonance issue is a dealbreaker for me...and I do have very sensitive ears, so....Pity, the pianos sound so nice...

Interesting. From both SK, I like the SK-5 better as it is mellower. Perhaps because the Concert Grand has this "feature". I am curious to see what others have to say about it.

Kawai ES8, Roland RD2000, Yamaha AG06 mixer, Presonus Eris E5 monitors, Sennheiser HD598SR phones.

Well, I am sorry but it is going to take more than some "stranger" coming to this forum for 2 days posting negatives about Kawai SK sampling for me to climb on the HORRIBLE Kawai sounds boat. I have played many Kawai keyboards and HORRIBLE is not a term that comes to my mind.

Call me Skeptical of your motives.
