(1) When a string breaks that I am tuning the first thing I think of and do if it is possible is "splice" the string instead of replacing it. Of course, if it breaks in a place where you can't splice then you have to change it. How do you handle this situation? Do you always splice or always replace the string?

(2) and while I'm at it what should the difference in price be between a successful splice and the string change?

(3) and I might as well ask ".....is there ever a time (maybe bass strings??) where you dare splice "below" the capo bar....?"

Looking for ideas.....
