SH, I have a 2004 desiel Sprinter and have gone into limp mode at least 10 times. Just about anything can do it from a clogged fuel filter to an expensive air quality gizmo (forget the name but it was $1200). One thing I learned is that if you get a computer reader and plug it into the truck you can not only find out the problem but you can also clear the code (erase) and get out of limp mode much of the time. (Just write down the code so you can tell the mechanic what the problem is) . Finding that out saved me hundreds of miles of limping along at 40 MPH.

Thanks Peyton. Good advice. I took out the Vag-com (Volkswagen auto group computer) and scanned car. Had to find vacuum leaks with the Mighty-Vac. Replaced all vac lines as well as MAF & N75 sensor. Removed and cleaned turbo with oven cleaner and removed and cleaned built-up carbon from intake manifold) with a Harbor Freight torch/flamethrower. (spotless clean now!).

I'm happy to say all is working now once again but it took about a week to diagnose and fix everything. I can't help but wonder how many of the newer vehicles out there are going to run into this problem as so many of the new engines use turbos but at least they're not pumping the emissions back into the intake like the diesels do. Next up...EGR delete!

Thanks again for the tips!

Well, It seems that I'll have to resubmit my recording, becasue a) It wasn't loud enough b) I will have to slow down the tempo...it's lost so much subtlety with the way I played it (kind of hurried along). After listening to my recording for a couple of days I've gotten dissatisfied with it... might be it's just perfectionist talking in me, don't know:-)

I just can't live without some music in my life

I think I had to download one of those thingys to my laptop so that I could operate my Behringer analog-to-digital Audio Interface when recording to Audacity - well, it was a driver of some kind or other...we are talking about the same thing, aren't we? laugh

Wow, doesn't sound like you needed it... Best I can do is find what ever the code is telling me is wrong . I can't begin to actually fix it. (I wouldn't know the turbo from the starter). Yea, the EGR was the big replacement for me. I deleted the code all summer till finally it just had to be replaced. But man I CAN tune a piano!!

Well, I'm finally back online so I can submit this Sunday. Veterans Day, hint hint smile

I call it my Lawrence Welk set - the memory care folks love it, and I hope to do it for an assisted living group this Sunday, too. Thankfully they're not very critical and I'm going to bring words so they can sing along.

I’m thinking of submitting for this, have hardly learnt anything new this year due to study (Psychology, it’s been fun!) but since unit finished I’ve been working on a little Moszkowsi study and I reckon I might be able to get it up to scratch by the deadline. It’s only a minute and a half so shouldn’t be too hard to get a recording, right? (Haha, wrong!).

I'm in! I submitted a recording of a live performance from a mock exam that I did with another teacher in preparation of my exam in two weeks. So, a one take recording with an examiner scribbling away in the background!

Haven't been very active here these last few months, but I just had to submit what I knew 9 months ago would be my submission for the November recital.

I've started playing January 2017, Nothing is too easy is where I keep track of my progress.

Quite unplanned, but I submitted something for this recital. A long and hilarious story leading up to this, which will have to remain untold. wink
