A technician can voice one and same piano to be bright or mellow. Generalizations are rather useless, especially between vague things such as continents. European vs American sound? That’s a nonsense smile

But there is general tradition in piano making and European pianos tends to be mellower. However, it's all changing with time.

I would't dismiss it at pure nonsense. I agree about the voicing having the the major impact of "bright" or "mellow" but there is certain difference in traditions I believe and Steinways are made slightly different depending on where they are made, Hamburg or New York..

Yes generalizations are bad but still what johanibraaten wrote- there are some distinctive piano characteristics, no matter what technician does(unless he replaces strings and soundboard wink

The Roland App "Piano Every Day" mentioned in the videos (thanks for the links!) is not available yet, right? I am always interested in piano learning apps and this is supposed to have an integration to a music sheet service like the Simply Piano App from Joytunes.

I checked the US and DE Appstore from Apple. Anyone able to check Google Appstore?

Yeah this sounds good but I'd like to hear serious classical piece with better external microphone recording.

Another demo, although it is yet another improv or something frown Still you can hear dynamic range at times.

Not terribly impressed by his choice of music. Listened to a comparison of Roland DP, HP and LX afterwards and actually preferred that sound. But maybe that was because I have the LX7.

That's the case probably, I figure LX-7 sounds much better in person as well.

Slightly OT but did anyone else (from germany) notice that the HP605 is not that availiable anymore since some time? Cant find it on Thomann-site for example. I was thinking of getting that one, since, as much as a LX705 would be cool, I dont think I can negotiate anyone below €2000 for that one^^.
