It is a compelling piece. Thank you for introducing me to your music. I listened to two others of yours on youtube. I hope you go into writing film music.

Really enjoyed your Bagatelle for Bassoon and piano.

Thank you for a wonderful late Romantic piece .I enjoyed the fragments of melody that seemed to
grow in the middle of the piece and flower without becoming quite overwhelming.
Very well played as well .Do you write all this down by hand or do you by use computer
Soft ware systems like Sibelius? Thank you for a new great piece !

It's rude he creates a thread with his music seeking for atention and as he doesn't get all the attention he wants he doesn't bother to even answer to those who took the time to listen to his music.

Aside that this is not the composers corner.

If you look at the Composers Corner, this was posted there..,., with few comments and NONE from teachers. FYI, I don’t remember seeing many teachers post comments there. There is no rule on PW where a composition must be posted, and you will find compositions in many different forums. Looking for attention? maybe he wanted teacher feedback on improvement

Looks like you just posted for the excuse to label someone as immature. Maybe you should consider just ignoring..... so you don’t appear that way.

Thanks so much for listening. I usually improvise my ideas and write them out by hand. Later for the final version, I use Sibelius for the scoring.

Osco,
Can you tell us the name of that incredible piece?
Anything else you can tell us would be also great ?

Hi Oscar, I liked this the best so far. But it is still derivative. A kind of souped up Chopinesque exercise. Your may think, this guy always says the same thing. He just criticizes everything I do.
Well, that is true, but you can't grow just from praise. One day you may say, hey, that guy knew what he was talking about!

I would not trouble you if I didn't think you had it in you to bring out the original Oscar. I agree with Tyrone, so much to praise about what you have accomplished, but still, you are neither a virtuoso pianist nor a ground breaking composer (yet). Someone suggested you write film music. The kiss of death! And what has often been said about my music. It somehow suggests your music should be subverted to a greater cause, or complete a gestalt and not stand on its own.

You are graced by youth, but that will disappear all too quickly. Tomorrow you will be in your late twenties, then your thirties the day after, with all the praise you can stand perhaps, but if you do not grasp what I am saying you will never break free from the limitations imposed upon you by other people's opinions. You are looking for feedback, but you must challenge yourself first and foremost. On the same YouTube page was Barber's Adagio for Strings as well as "Improvising in the style of great composers". There you have it exactly. The sublime and the parlor game. You can never outdo a Chopin or a Beethoven unless you are a Mozart. Sure you can put your own spin on it as you have done here, but ultimately it is artificial. Until you find a way of delving into your deep and true self you will be a slave to convention and ultimately forgotten. Yes, you can have a fine life and a good career, and if that is all you want just forget what I am trying to convey to you. But if you want to express the cosmic Oscar you must start to take chances musically and search for a teacher who can help you open this door. With what you are creating now you will never fail because you are not truly reaching with your heart and soul. Until you begin to allow failure to be a part of the process your music will always be in the conventionally "safe" zone. It is all within your power, Oscar, but remember this... At the end of the day you will assess all you have done in your life. You will not be able to avoid the truth of what you have really accomplished ( unless you become lost in your own ego). Then you will know if you were true to your gifts and commitment to your own originality, or an interpreter of other people's genius. If you must compose then you must struggle to find the answers within yourself.

Thanks so much for your wisdom. I'll definitely continue pushing my boundaries. Glad you cared enough to "criticize" in a mindful way.
