So this crazy dude lugged an upright (actually got some locals to lug it) into the Elephant World preserve in Kanchanaburi Thailand. And he plays music for the elephants. And they listen!

Moving the piano

Pretty interesting.

That's so great! Love the part where the elephant starts conducting and/or teaching thumb I wonder if the elephant gave any insightful notes or had a request pertinent to that piece wink

That's a really cute video.

However I think its a bit staged and the Elephant is scrounging for pre-prepared treats hidden behind that little bush bush rather than actually listening to the music. Look about 36 seconds into the video and later on in places too.

Maybe you should watch this ekephant’s reaction to ‘Clair de Lune’

Those are adorable. I see the piano is a Feurich, built by Hailun. It's great to have Elephant fans. smile

If you even do a little reading about elephants, how can you not be a fan? Intelligent, emotional critters ❤️
Paul Barton is a Feurich artist... but he also has some clunkers out in the wild to allow elephants to play along with him

Elephant at National Zoo plays harmonica.,,, quite musical

Maybe the elephant was checking out the keys to see what they were made from...…...

Some men are music lovers. Others make love without it.

I think it is great that he plays for the elephants. Music does affect animals.

That video is even lovelier. However I don't see any evidence that the elephant has come to listen to the music. I do see a very old, very sleepy, and adorable elephant who clearly likes and has a good relationship with the pianist.

However, I'm not saying for one second that elephants don't respond to music. I presume that is very possible, certainly my old dog instantly comes in, lies down by the piano stool, and then goes to sleep within seconds of us starting to play the piano. Elephants might well have similar reactions.

Just love elephants! Love the whole idea of playing to them.

I would however be afraid ,no doubt the whole piano would be shaking!
