Hi, I'm not sure what your question is. The book has examples that you can play over this track. When you improvise, whether you use Bb major or C dorian is irrelevant in my opinion since they're made of the same notes. It's which note you use where that matters. For example, you probably don't want to put emphasis on the Eb while you're on the Bb chord. On the C-/F however it will sound good.
