I like this idea. I'm looking at the last I did for 2016, perhaps I'll do them again for 2019. Actually, I went back to the very first piece I did in that list, BWV 114. I just recently added the trills. Can I count it twice laugh

* Although the original piece is written in E-major, the arrangement uses F-major transposition.
* I came across this piece (for learning) a few years ago from Yousician app, and now from the Piano Adventures book.
* I don’t remember the earlier arrangements, but this one specifically focuses on the ledger line (that is the topic of the unit), so it is actually a good practice for that.
* I love the transitions between chords, especially in bar 22. It feels magical a little bit.

28. Lunar Eclipse - from Faber’s Piano Adventures (book 2)
* It is written in E minor (harmonic) in binary form. I believe that is what is called, but I am not totally sure. It has an A section and then B section after which it returns to B and then finishes the Coda.
* This piece introduces few different techniques:
* Tenuto (holding the note for its full value)
* 7-th interval
* Chromatic descent
* Arpeggios
* It has a mystic feel (if the first and the last (third) section). I don’t get the second section at all. It sounds too weird and it does not stick with my fingers. Meh.

29. Hummingbird by Rick Robertson. . This is the piece I also submitted for my August recital.
30. Swan Lake - Theme from the Overture to Act II. Arrangement from Adult Piano Adventures ( book 2 )
31. House of Rising Sun Lead sheet from Adult Piano Adventures ( book 2 )

This is my first attempt at recording JS Bach's Invention No 13. Not yet perfect and this recording has some mistakes - but I think it good enough to say its a piece I have learnt.

I have also updated Invention No 8 to a better version

I haven't made much progress in this challenge since my last post. My teacher couldn't meet for two weeks and I didn't really practice at all. Hello, friends.

This topic is very interesting: it gives an excellent motivation for learning new works.
I play piano for about 9 months (approximately 3-4 hours per week, unfortunately, it's less than I would like). I am trained at home without a teacher on my digital piano: Yamaha CLP-635.
About 12 years I did not play musical instruments (and I never played the piano). But in my childhood I graduated from the music school in accordion class (this helped me a lot, because I know the musical notation).

To date, I can play the following:

  • 1. Petzold - Minuet in G major, BWV Anh. 114 (Record >>)
  • 2. Petzold - Minuet in G minor, BWV Anh. 115 (Record >>)
  • 3. Star Wars - The Imperial March (Record >>)
  • 4. Linkin Park - Numb (Record >>)
  • 5. Beethoven - Bagatelle, Op. 119, No 9 (Record >>)
  • 6. Berkovich - Etude on a Theme by Paganini (Record >>)
  • 7. Zhuravli (The Cranes)/Журавли - Y. Frenkel/Я. Френкель (Record >>)
  • 8. Bizet - Carmen: Toreador Song (Record >>)
  • 9. Verdi - La Donna È Mobile (Rigoletto) (Record >>)
  • 10. Beethoven - Sonatina in G major, Anh. 5, Moderato (Record >>)
  • 11. Beethoven - Sonatina in G major, Anh. 5, Romanze (Record >>)
  • 12. Chopin - Waltz A Minor (op. posthume) (Record >>)
  • 13. Tchaikovsky - Neapolitan Song, Op. 39, 18 (Record >>)
  • 14. Beethoven - La Marmotte, Op. 52, No 7 (Record >>)
  • 15. The Beatles - Yesterday (Record >>)
  • 16. Rachmaninov - Polka Italienne (Arr. A. Siloti) (WIP)
  • 17. Beethoven - Fur Elise, Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor, WoO 59 (Record >>)

I started learning to play the piano in November 2017.

StasNick, nice Für Elise!
If you are interested to improve it a bit more, I can point out one or two mistakes where you play incorrect notes (or leave out notes) that seem as if you learned them incorrectly (i.e. that are not simply mistakes made during the recording). But only if you want, I don't want to impose.

JoBert, thanks for your feedback.
Yes, of course, I will be glad to hear any comments.
I try to constantly improve my performance of musical pieces as far as possible.
