This was an amazing journey starring a Baldwin SF-10 7 ft. grand that I volunteered to help move to sale. Uncannily, a Piano World member fro afar, became a co-star.. Don't want to give away the whole story. But it was a compelling adventure packed into a short space of time.

Thanks, I particularly enjoyed Allan's playing on video and in person. First time I met a Piano World member here in Berkeley. (that is not Online or reached only by PM) And meeting 4 piano passionate compatriots was an additional treat. Boy that Steinway D was IMPRESSIVE!

Thanks Shirley for the story..... it always warms my heart that a great vintage piano will be given a new life. I’m grateful you were able to make this hapoen.

Thanks for your kind words. Allan will send a rebuilding update to compare to the BEFORE of the SF-10. Stay tuned.

This was a really nice story. And the music was very nice. I am interested in seeing how the rebuild goes too.

I enjoyed the "blossoming piano romance" story. The first piano shop I worked at the owner told me it was always easier to sell a piano if an interesting story was attached.

I am curious if the OP was paid to broker this sale?

Ed, I have copied the original post. The word ‘volunteer’ implies ‘free’, doesn’t it? Regardless, even if this assumption is incorrect, why are any of us entitled to know about any payment? It is not germane to the story and is quite personal.

To me the word "volunteer" means someone who does something out of choice as opposed to being compelled to do it.

Thanks for your reply. PW does require posters who make money servicing or selling pianos to disclose this.

Ed, for Pete’s sake.... Shirley is a piano teacher, performer snd recording artist. . Her career is not brokering pianos.

I don't see why asking for clarification should result in assuming I am rude. I made no negative comments. Maybe others wondered the same thing? I don't see why I should be "chastised". I think it is a fair question.

Well, really, what's the difference? I have no real skin in the game here, but the OP didn't market the piano on this thread, she was just relating the tale of what happened. It's an interesting, piano related story, and clearly not a sales pitch. If you're curious, that's fine, but I cannot see how disclosing or not disclosing this information would interfere with forum rules, if it is indeed an after the fact story. The OP has been a forum member for 11 years.

ShirlKirsten is a long time PW member and poster. I'd think all of the frequent posters on PW know that she is a piano teacher / performer.

Well the best sales pitches don't look like sales pitches was what I was taught. I mean no disrespect, I just think everyone should play by the same rules. And if one is getting paid to sell pianos, PW requires you to disclose that.

She was relating a story-I did not see anything that even vaguely sounded like a sales pitch?!
