I would pay a reasonable (small) amount of money for a hat with the S&S logo. Or a polo shirt with "C. Bechstein". Or a canvas tote-bag for Shigeru Kawai. I guess I can always buy Yamaha Racing apparel :-).

Is there anyplace I can get manufacturer-themed apparel? I have searched and found nothing (other than Yamaha racing). Do the dealers have a secret stash? Seems like the makers are missing out on some free marketing.

Get them from Steinway: part no. 006904 in black, 006904A in khaki. Your Steinway store should be able to get them for you.

My piano tech has plastic ziplock bags from various piano manufacturers which she uses to keep her tools. Not quite as thrilling as shirts or tote bags though.

I could swear I’ve seen wine glasses or glass coffee mugs with the Steingraeber logo, but I might be imagining that.

Steinway dealers have all kinds of promotional stuff. I have 2 black coffee mugs with the Steinway logo on them as well as a very nice coffee-table type book on the history of the company, production of the pianos, etc. that I was given by the local dealer.

Right now, there's a Steinway umbrella on ebay.

I got a mug for stopping by one of the galleries with the unused Lyre logo that they decided against using a couple years ago smile

I similarly got a Steinway mug at Steinway-Japan. Nice, but Japanese size coffee cups are a little smaller than those in the USA. Actually, everything in japan is four-fifths scale.

My father found this hat in a closet. It's about 25 years old now. It had the high crown on the front, so not exactly the current style.

Man, I'm thinking I'd really like a Steinway cap. I think I'm gonna have to check with the our dealer.

I checked with the Steinway Piano Gallery here in St Louis, MO. Here is their reply:

>Yes, Steinway has a Black Golf Cap w/Steinway Logo available for $40.00 plus $3.25 tax and $5.00 shipping. Total cost: $48.25

--

Seems on the high side to me for a cap, but it would be one that you don't see every day.

Just to put this in comparison, at the PGA Championship that I attended last week, they wanted $28-32 for a PGA Championship logo cap.

Yikes!!! At those prices I'll pass. Apparently, someone @ Steinway thinks even their promotional items should pull more than a premium price!

Why would you pay to advertise someone's product. They ought to pay you!

Buy an ‘I love piano’ hat. You can have two different ones for the price of one Steinway. I like the ‘grandologist’ one

At least we don't have to buy a >$160,000 piano to get one!

But I have not yet forked out the cash for a hat. I play an old model D in the recital hall at school and love it, so I need a hat!

I wonder if I went to one of those places where you can design your own stuff and made my own if Steinway would sue me?

Sam

Here's my swag. I got a bunch of the t-shirts, I'll confess, in black, brown, and green. The Steinway t-shirts are a FANTASTIC conversation-starter and are like a magnet for drawing other musicians to meet. I highly recommend one. Oh and note the possum with the key. This key was one I picked up when I briefly owned an old 1935 Model L before I traded up in-store, so it never got used.

All this talk is really making me want a hat or a t-shirt. I've never thought of those for my piano before, but we wear them for everything else; colleges, sports teams, vacation spots, automobiles, so why not my piano.

I had also thought about having a signet ring made for myself, but I didn't know exactly what to put on it. I wonder if Steinway would sue me for having the lyre placed on the top?

How about a treble and bass clef on your ring?

I would really love a Steinway shirt! Or if I am truthful to which piano I actually own, a Kawai shirt..
