It is not too bad. The green covering is not essential, but you need the correct thickness of key end felt. Clean off the old felt, lay in the new strip, glue it and cut them apart, or cut first and then glue.

The pictures show that only the layer of green felt needs replacement. It will take some time to remove and replace the felts.

What is the instrument?
