I am so impressed that I tried to find her CD to purchase, but alas no luck. If anyone sees it somewhere could you let me know?

She has two CDs on Amazon.com, including one recorded this year:

https://www.amazon.com/104-ans-pian...ms-bar-strip-0&keywords=colette+maze

https://www.amazon.com/Debussy-Pian...011&sr=8-1&keywords=colette+maze

P.S. Looks like they're downloads only, same as on Amazon UK.

Know a few people who are in their 90s. Hard to say if they are in good health or not. They take their daily dose of medications for symptoms like high blood pressure & diabetes. And being non-musicians they are talking about the day dementia will set in.

Being an amateur musician myself, my job is to play my music as much as possible even if I can't always find time to play once a day and keep my mind active before my senior years. Guess there are people who live in their parents' world of yesterday. No matter how much science is there to tell older people they need to do more exercise and watch their diet, when you get to a certain age you throw half the science out the window... because many feel they already outlived their parents.

Dementia is a big thing and it is going to get bigger because the world's population is aging. Some people I know who were not brought up to play an instrument wouldn't be able see themselves starting piano lessons after they are retired in their 70s and definitely not when they get to their 80s & 90s. The perception is that it'd take too long to master unless you start before age 10. The other thing is to convince older people they are not training to become concert pianists but to have a hobby to reduce the likelihood of depression & dementia.

@dogperson, If you have access to Google Play Music, both albums are available there now to stream. It's also on YouTube Music. There is some sort of merging happening between Google Play Music and YouTube Music, not sure if they will continue to be separate applications. I've been a member of Google Play Music since it first came out, that gave me access to YouTube Premium and YouTube Music. It's really nice smile

.

Thanks much for the information..... I was hopeful to find this as an actual CD but I’ll take advantage of streaming if I can’t

Wow! I hope my fingers remain nimble enough to get to grade 8, never mind 103. What an inspiration.

Very impressive and very inspiring! She moves like someone thirty years younger. I'm sure piano helps, but good, strong bones helps even more. My own mother is 97. Her mind is agile, but osteoporosis has taken its toll on her bones and she spends most of her time in a wheelchair.

That's a shame about her view that men are less reliable than pianos. Maybe she spent too much time trying to regulate them! laugh
