It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
I saw this on YouTube and am interested to find out more, perhaps getting one myself. I think it's serves better as a digital music book than the iPad Pro because of the dual screen. Has anyone got one or tried it? What are your thoughts?
According to a couple of reviews I read, the operating system is slow and of limited functionality, making the GVIDO not so useful. I really needs to be majorly improved. Since you already have an iPad Pro, you can get a second one, and using ForScore they integrate perfectly as a two-page score reader, and the iPad OS is light-years ahead of the GVIDO. I bought a used iPad Pro for my second one cheaply on Ebay. It doesn't need to be fancy because all the files are on the main Pro, and it just gets the pages on the fly via WiFi. Very Slick.
I bougth this reade wit it's pedal and the leather cover, 2808 € , the product is OK. BUT, BUT. The software is, to be polite, not user-friendly at all. Handle folders and files is a nightmare. Add or change files the same. You can create folders but no sub-folders.Gvido replied me that even with new release of their software that won't be poassible. I used a Sony Digital Paper and there you can use the storage like a hard disk under Windows. When I change a partition on the computer I connect the Digital Paper to the computer and I run an parameterized XCOPY to have the new version on the Digital Paper. With the GVIDO I must first delete the old version on the tablet, connect the GVIDO to the computer, then copy the new file to the folder, disconnect the GVIDO and then add the new version to the folder and then with up and down put my partition on the right place. I continue to use my Digital Paper hoping that Sony will one day Digital Paper with pedal zo turn the pages. I hope that GVIDO will soon give a software update to improve these problems. Ps. After every shutdown I have to reactivate Bluetooth. Not very user-friendly too.
