Does anyone know of a piano store or practice facility in downtown Boston that might rent me a practice room with an okay-or-better acoustic piano for an hour or two of practice tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, June 12)?

Any suggestions gratefully welcomed!

This is not "for sure" but you might try calling in the morning:

M. Steinert & Sons
1 Columbus Avenue
Boston, MA 02116

Monday through Friday 10am-6pm

Maybe 3 years ago, I was able to try out pianos and practice for several hours in their upstairs used grand piano space. (They knew I was really looking for practice space, found the grand at the conference hotel a few blocks away too public although staff let me play on it, and was an out-of-towner at a conference.) The store was pretty empty at that time. I tried out maybe 6 used and/or remodeled Ms - interesting comparisons. I know they have some small rooms used for lessons, and the store has been remodeled since I was there so the layout is probably different. Anyway, you might offer to rent one of the practice rooms. They are near the Boylston St. Green Line subway stop. In any event, it will be interesting to check them out.

Beethoven, Pathetique; Schubert, some Moments Musicaux and Impromptu Op 90 No 2; Haydn Piano Trio XV:25 (Gypsy Rondo); Mozart Concertone (trio); various piano-violin duets
