My B.Brock 51" upright dating from about 1945 has some screws in it's pressure bar so positioned that a number of hammers in the treble can not be evenly spaced because strings have to routed "off their true center line".
This means that all the hammers have to be about a millimeter narrower than what would be expected if the strings ran true to their position - as dictated by the position their pins on the pin-block.
Being a Mr Fixit I have the plan to remove those "offending" screws and somehow plug the corresponding holes in the pressure bar and the "ridge" over which the strings run !
Then I will buy and install a new set of wider hammers - they are available !
This is just an idea and I may never - Get a Roundtooit.
But any comments will be greatly appreciated.
I have, on at least two notes, had to insert spacers between strings as "harmonics" were transfering between excessively close strings.

I'd recommend posting in the Tuner-Technician's forum.

I recommend moving the strings or the hammers sideways as needed.
