After carrying out an extensive survey of 6 and half people, I came to see that there was a desperate need for a set 10 pieces for piano which, in a tuneful and accessible style, explored differing piano techniques whilst sticking (loosely) to the structure of the 12 bar Blues. Well, eager as I am to please my public I've responded with exactly that, and here they are!

Very nice Simon, great job. Being a lover of Gershwin's music, I really like your style wink

I see on your video you have the sheet music of it. Is there a way to have it?

Excellent work, Mr.Hester. As a composition, Moving Blues really appeals to me; I might have to give it a go. Since I don't read well, learning by ear and eye from the video will suffice. I'm not disciplined enough to work on anything that doesn't move me (pun intended).

While I'm at it, anyone care to point me to other members who specialize in Jazz/Fusion/Blues/Pop compostions for solo piano or small ensembles? The forum as a whole seems strongly inclined toward Classical/Romantic/Orchestral musical styles; that's fine, but not really my bag for the most part.

P.S. I will endeavor to make a proper introductory post soon. I'm here because I just acquired my first grand piano, a 1985 Yamaha G3 ('gray market', no sostenuto, polshed ebony) after 30 years of playing digital pianos/synths and composing with MIDI. I probably haven't spent more then 20 hours, total, playing real pianos in that time. Not sure why I put off getting one for so long, but it's a real treat to have it now. Just need to build up my hand strength, and learn to go a little easier on the sustain pedal. ;^)

P.P.S. Regarding the 2012 'Joined' date... No, I haven't been lurking around here all these years! I must have signed up for some incidental purpose back then, but never came back until recently when the opportunity to buy the G3 came up. I was surprised when the registration process told me my address was already registered!
