The problem is that big screens are expensive, which is why I use a Lenovo Tab2 10.1 inch with Android for sheet music. No problem at all, and I bet my eyes are older than yours!! I've seen pianists in cafes locally using 9 and ten inch screens too, That said, last weekend I examined and drooled over an iPad Pro 12.9 inch tablet which I would get in an instant if they were a quarter their price

I am using a "NuVision 13.3" Full HD - 16GB - Android Internet Tablet with Keyboard Case, Stand & Stylus (TM1318) - Purple." I understand they used to be below $100, but mine cost $148.57. I use it with Mobile Sheets Pro to display music. Also use a foot pedal to turn pages. I love this setup.
I had to send back my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. because of a manufacturing defect that caused to to not want to boot after the battery level dropped below around 80%.

I've been very happy with my 13" tablet, its Windows though, not android. Only using it for sheet music, annotations on the sheet music (Xodo), and bluetooth foot pedal. It comes with a pen, so make the annotation much easier. https://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_557447.htmlI have to say though that when I bought it, I was skeptical, because it was so much cheaper than anything out there, but glad I did.
Still deciding whether I am playing for fun or playing to improve... leaning towards fun :-) 2017 Feurich 218

I use a 17 inch Dell is 2 in 1 convertible laptop. My vision is still pretty good so I'm able to view 2 pages at once. It was an open-box item at BestBuy, somewhere around $500. I think Windows is the way to go for this. Large touch screens are cheaper in 2in1s than dedicated tablets.

The 13.3" eInk from Sony or Onyx are nice. The DUAL 13.3" eInk from GVIDO Tokyo is designed for music scores. The eInk is easy on the eyes, very low glare, long battery life. Rather expensive. https://www.gvido.tokyo/http://www.the-ebook-reader.com/ebook-reader-comparison.htmlEDIT - I don't think eInk is good for videos.

I too love my iPad pro, but I'd love to see the GVIDO come down to a reasonable price! Surely it, or something like it, will be affordable sometime.

I'm Surprised no one mentioned the Samsung Galaxy View 18.4". I'm an old guy too, and that is the smallest screen I would even consider... otherwise I'm just sticking to paper. I nice big e-ink tablet <$500 would be perfect but no such luck as yet.

I looked at that one in some online reviews. The screen looks big enough to be useful, but is 1920x1080 resolution high enough to look good at close range? I got the impression that it's mostly intended for watching videos from further back, kind of like a television set.

Several have mentioned eyesight difficulty in reading music. I use MobileSheetsPro, and there is a way to make the score practically as large as you could ever need.
Suppose for example that you have 8 lines of music on a page (4 treble and 4 base) and that makes the notes too small. One can copy that page 1 time so that one has page 1 and page 2. Then one can crop the first page to only display the first 4 lines of music and save that as the new page 1. Then crop page 2 to only display the second 4 lines of music. So, the one page has become 2 pages, each with just 4 lines of music.
Then turn the tablet sideways to landscape mode and the music will expand both vertically and horizontally until the edge of the screen is reached (keeping aspect ratio). Obviously the one page could have been turned into 4 pages to make the notation even larger.
This could probably be done with any music in a pdf format, but I don't know the specific tools one would use to do the cropping. This is also a way that one could have larger notation on a smaller device, although it might be a nuisance if it had to be done too much.

I only recently realized ForScore has now added a dual-screen capability for the iPad - a second device can function as a sort of slave, so you see two pages at the same time, just like using a book. It seems to work pretty well - it uses their Cue app on the second device and you see pages 1-2, 3-4, etc. I've just tested it on my iPad and an iPhone (using ForScore mini on the iPhone). I'm going to try it out on two 12.9" iPad Pros. I'm wondering if anyone has been using this feature?

I think that I'll give it a try using my 12.9 iPad Pro and standard size iPad 4. Thanks!

I think I have it figured out. You can even do your annotations on the Pro and they will also show on the second screen. It took me a couple of tries to figure out how to do that. I don't think you even need ForScore on the second device, just the Cue app. Let me know how it works for you.

New video & comments showing Onyx e-Ink (13.3" X 2) from HK. Gives good idea of form factor, screen quality, how to manage scores, features. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS1ezBrQTRoPadMu Music is Italian hardware partner of Onyx; they do some of the music software-bluetooth. https://www.padformusician.com/en/

Wow, I'm surprised at how many are using digital media for sheeet music. I'm totally a tech person, have multiple computers and tablets, yet I really prefer paper for reading music. In fact Instore my music on Dropbox in PDF, but then go so far as to print onto high quality slightly colored paper for the best legibility. I find the bright screen to be a little annoying when reading from a tablet.
Regarding screen size, have you considered using those reader glasses that have a slight magnification? I usually wear glasses, but when I wear contact lenses I find sometimes if the print is small these help.
