Also, British schoolgirls don't walk around airports in full school uniforms with matching hats (except in Harry Potter movies)......... wink

Still, that sounded like fun.

BTW, at Heathrow Airport (London), there are at least three public pianos you can play on (including two grands), which I've tried. A good enough excuse for PW members to visit the UK (not to mention an upcoming Royal Wedding)......

That may be, but the "boogie-woogie" is quite popular. I've watched several of this guy's YT videos, before BDB posted this, and his boogie-woogie piano playing all sounds similar, but still good (to me at least).

Also not to mention all the nice grand piano's that can be found in many of the beautiful castles in Scotland (and probably England). Very often you are allowed to play them. (We will be traveling in Scotland within six weeks again by motor home. So I have started to practice my repertoire which also is very limited 😳)

So is mine... in fact, it is so limited I don't call it repertoire; I call it tunes or songs that I can play (at least to some extent). smile

Don't airlines have dress codes for their pilots? Does any airline allow pilots to wear shoulder-length hair?

Definitely fake. She forgot her cap at the piano. No self-respecting British school girl will ever do that!

I would say "staged" rather than "fake."
And cute. Thanks for sharing.

So what if it is "staged". They are still bringing music and smiles to people.

Also the uniforms are different colors. And the schoolgirl knew the music off the top of her head....

The music video was entertaining, even if it was choreographed.

That said, something similar happened to me in real life several months ago. I was formally invited to play the piano for a United Way charity event at the community technical college where I work. I've been invited to perform at that event every year for the past several years. I always look forward to performing in public, even though I have terrible stage fright.

With it being a public event, this young man, a student at the college I assumed, came over while I was playing the piano, just as the two air-line pilot impersonators (presumably) in the video and just stood there almost leaning on the baby grand piano staring at me grinning. To be polite and personable, I stopped playing, and asked if he played the piano. He said yes, and did I mind if he played with me; I said no, I didn't mind, but was being polite (as much as possible). I actually wasn't sure what to say or what to think because I had never experienced anything like that before.

The guy comes over and sits down beside me to my right, on the non-duet piano bench, and begins to peck out some notes in the uppermost treble that I assume he thought enhanced my playing. Never having been in that particular predicament before, I stopped playing and told the guy he could play by himself. I'll admit he could play decently, although I had no idea what he was playing. I decided it was time to cut my performance short and let the competition have it, although I can't say in all honesty that he could play better than me (not that I can play all that well).

Quite honestly, I thought the young man was rude and inconsiderate the way he horned in on my performance. I would not have done that to someone else playing the piano at an event and certainly do not consider it proper etiquette. But it's not my nature to be confrontational, most of the time at least. smile

So, I can relate to the lovely young lady in the video... smile

Yes - the kid was rude, inconsiderate and perhaps a tad clueless. When you perform at the event again next year, you'll be better prepared to deal with a similar situation should it arise. grin
