So I liked the MYOD concept, but had decided not to be an active participant. That said, I play everyday.....EVERY day. For me, it's therapy. It's the thing that keeps me centered.. Before piano, it was guitar, or other instruments. Either way, it was music, everyday. Some days don't go well.....perhaps to many distractions or whatnot, but I still go through the motions. Well, I just went on vacation. Usually, If I go away, I will bring at least a ukulele so I can play something. This time I did not (at my wife's behest). The week was fine.....I didn't have the "withdrawals" I expected to have. I barely even thought about it while I was away. But the most wonderful thing happened upon my return. Not that I was feeling "burned out" or stale, but I have had a rejuvenation, a resurgence of musical passion that completely caught me off guard. I'm playing better than before I left. Things are coming to me faster and easier. I'm just very pleased with what a week off has done for me.....

that is all

Please excuse me for Feb 23 and 27. A couple of nights sampling the delights of Brisbane.

Thanks.

I have to go on the excused list for 14, 15, 16 March - I've been hit with an inner ear problem and it really threw me for a loop with vertigo and nausea.

I saw the dr today and meds are already kicking in - I feel sure I'll play tomorrow!

Please excuse me from March 3rd to March 5th. I was dog sitting at my daughters house and fell on the stairs. I had x rays and fortunately nothing is broken but I was in too much pain to practice. The sciatic nerve is evidently inflamed and for the first couple of days it hurt to move anything. I am back to practicing with my left hand due to the tendinitis in my right hand. I am seeing a physical therapist for that next week.

Wow zillybug, that sounds terrible! I hope the tendonitis settles down soon, and the sciatica subsides. I will add March 3-5 to your excused list.

I have to be excused for Sunday 18 March as well. I tried playing on Saturday and did a bit, but it was not very successful. Yesterday I didn't even try. I'm not as bad as the first few days, but the dizziness is still there. The dr said it wouldn't go away overnight. Sadly - he was right.

I had exactly the same problem a couple of years ago. It was terrifying, but fortunately it went away quickly and hasn’t come back.

Wishing you a full and speedy recovery!

In addition to Feb. 20 and 21, I also had to miss yesterday (Tuesday March 20) because of work travel and lack of time to practice.

Back at it today!

Please put me in the excused list for March 14-18 and 20. I had pain in both hands (and several other body parts, actually) and could hardly handling objects. My doctor prescribed me anti-inflammatory and now it's better. I'm waiting for the blood exams results, also.

Hi,
I missed practice at the piano on Friday, March 23rd.

The day before, Thursday, I had put in extra hours at work & performed an act of kindness by clearing our elderly neighbour's driveway of snow & ice that I overslept Friday and didn't have my usual before work practice session. Then after work, we had choir practice for Palm Sunday service, Good Friday and Easter. I got home after 10pm and what energy I had left was to have a cup of tea followed by falling asleep on the sofa. 😴

I resumed practice yesterday, Saturday, 3/24. Thank you!

I had to miss yesterday (Sunday 3/25) due to all-day, out-of-town business meetings and a long trip home. I was able to practice at the hotel on the GO Piano some on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday just wasn't feasible.

Back at it today!

Just a heads up, I'll be absent 3/30 through 4/6. On the east coast visiting family. There is really old piano at my parent's place, but it is so out of tune, the sustain pedal is broken, keys not working, etc. It just sits in the basement and collects dust/mold. I played on it for about 60 seconds ... laugh
