In digital pianos, what is the term for the feature that makes the vibrations of strings seem to travel all the way to the associated key? I can't find it on the Specifications and Prices page for digital pianos of the Fall 2017 Piano Buyer.. I thought it would be part of String Resonance, but it's not. It's got to be there. What am I missing?

Keep writing, everybody. I'm Hoovering it all.

Thank you.

Yamaha, who equip their best hybrid digital pianos with this facility, call it Tactile Response System (TRS) but I think this is Yamaha's own name and not a generic term.

And I don’t think that the TRS lets the vibration travel to the associated key. It simply lets the whole keybed vibrate. I don’t think that a feature that lets the associated key vibrate exists anywhere - not even acoustic pianos behave like that.

Hi Aspiring,
I don't think this is a feature that we have on the Piano Buyer digital spec chart, at this time. There are so many categories that it can sometimes be difficult to decide what to include vs. not in the layout space allotted!

Ah yes 'associated key'. I hadn't read that part carefully enough. And like you, I've never heard of that feature before in either acoustic or electronic pianos. The nearest thing I can think of is colour-note organs which lights up the each key being played with a different colour. Scriabin meets Frank Zappa.
