The recital will be March 18, 2018 and will use the ABF recital software. The call for submissions thread will be created March 3 th and the recital will go live March 18.
There are a few rules which have been used in ABF’s previous themed recitals (It comes down to no rules really) - More than 1 submission per performer allowed - Multiple submissions of the same piece are allowed - Piano duets are allowed - All submitted material is your own.
It seems there was some concern over the inclusion of a Milonga in place of a waltz. I'm allowing that for the simple reason that the probability of a Milonga Recital in the near future is exactly zero,

Hi,cmb13 -- As Schubertian indicated, he's accepting the Milonga del Angel as a Waltz entry. You are now officially cleared for take-off!
In the interests of full disclosure, a couple of my submissions definitely test the limits of "Waltz" as well!

Maybe while we are all working to bring our waltzes to life we can do a little research on its history I'm sure most of us have images of elegant fin de siecle Vienna and frummery like this: Although its origins lie in something more like this, I think: Would it be asking to much to also have some 20th century walzes in our Recital? - something diseased, neurotic and possibly un-dead:

Oh, thank you! I will include it then....I'll update the submission sheet. I had just started to prepare a new piece, but I've been working on the Milonga for longer and it is more complex and beautiful. I hope I can get it down!

I'm sorry for having to remove my submissions from the list. There was an unexpected death in my family, and I will not be able to make any recordings by the deadline.

I've removed The Last Waltz - Mi-do's Theme, as I have been focusing on the other selection and cannot prepare for both. Thank you.

Maybe a stupid question, but how do you define a waltz? Not necessarily asking for the universal definition, though I would appreciate it, but at least a definition in the context of this recital.
For example is An der schönen blauen Donau by Johann Strauss II, a waltz, that would be accepted in this recital, even a simplified version? Is anything in 3/4 or 6/8 time, regarded as a waltz? The Blue Danube is a waltz according to Wikipedia, though I don't understand the Wikipedia definition too well.
Please note, that this question is not a submission, or a declaration thereof. I've been dabbling in The Blue Danube, for a long time, and having problems with keeping time with my left hand mostly, even in this simplified version, plus skin problems, work and other things, have kept me away from the piano.
