I posted in another thread, and then Dave asked about the decision - since I was going to start a post here at some point, I thought I would just respond to him here so the other thread doesn't get off topic. Hope this was the right way to to do it.
Yes, that's quite an upgrade. Big congrats !
Curious has to why you bought the Spirio with it. It seems to be a play back unit only not a recorder ? Did you get it more for listening enjoyment or educational, or both ?
Can you slow down certain sections ?
Wishing you many great years with it .
I got Spirio for the listening - in about 15 minutes, I went from buying something half the price into buying the B with Spirio. I would much prefer it to record or have a bigger library (ultimately, I would love there to be duets on there, so I could duet with amazing piano players; it seems logical this will be added at some point). Also - from an educational standpoint, I think it will help me play better, help with the touch/tone. We'll see on that part though. Adding the Spirio doesn't change any of the piano, you can't tell as you play.
The lack of record function was balanced with the superior sound of the B/Spirio combination. It was tough though, record would be awesome. If (when) Steinway adds this, I really hope there's a way to upgrade existing Spirios, since this piano was already the biggest stretch possible and I hope to have it for the rest of my life.
