I was just thinking about all the beautiful historic piano's needlessly condemned and destroyed by us technicians due to just a loose pinblock, when CA glue now brings them back to life, i myself am guilty and enjoyed many a great campfire at their expense, hehehe!, sorry!,,, piano's seem to house the spirits of all those that have enjoyed them, they hold the beautiful memories of all our past, so, ill toast them as i crack a beer early today!,,, it was a rough night!

Were you there on May 24th 1904 ?

I refer to the great conflagration of square pianos on Chelsea Heights, Atlantic City, NJ. Marshmallows and chestnuts were toasted that night, and a German U-Boat captain confirmed that it was definitely true that all Americans were stark staring bonkers as he saw figures dancing round the pyre in the gloaming through his periscope ...

Since the first German U-Boat was launched in 1906, they must have had time-travel technology available, which means that we could be plunged back into WWI at any moment!

Ah - must have been a 'T' boat (precursor to U boat)

I was given a Broadwood square piano in 1970 (c1870'ish) - still gives me nightmares ...

Perhaps at the time he witnessed the event, he was a future U-Boat captain, and only spoke of it later! wink

Whereas my Broadwood square piano of 1804 could not give me greater delight.

If you are interested in time travel, meet me here last Thursday at 7pm.

Since we are venturing, most enjoyably, into the surreal, I'd like to share verbally a cartoon in a recent issue of the UK's Private Eye satirical magazine.

It's a box with a drawing of a friendly-looking cat, and says "Schrodinger's Cat Toy". And at the bottom of the lid it has "Batteries are not, and are, included".
