This is a seven year old Japan made piano. Any possible cause? Is it possible to fix it?

Working on:\

J.S.Bach Prelude in C Min: No. 2 from Six Preludes fur Anfanger auf dem
Am Abend No. 2 from Stimmungsbilder, Op. 88

Hmm, are the dampers lifting the same as other notes? did you check the lower bridge area, is something wedged behind strings or action mechanism ? look where those 3 notes cross the bridge, maybe there not staggered across bridge pins, did something spill or drip down strings?, get a magnifying glass and inspect, this should be easy to decipher because three notes/6strings together dont just die like that, inspect the whole length of all six strings, you will find the problem!

Perhaps you could be more specific about which notes you consider weird?

Is it the first duples or is it the top end duples? There are two distinct timbres.

Im sure it the 3 dead notes {doubles} just higher from the singles, they sound terrible!

I have seen this happen before. Simply bad strings that need replacement. That is if you've tried twisting them (in the winding direction of course) and no improvement.

Check Damper lift (also make sure the hammers are not checking at strings and killing tone), check for foreign object in strings, check bridge pin area...If none of those, try lowering tension and raising it again, if no, then try twisting the string... If still no good, replace the string(s). There are only so many possibilities for why these notes are so dead.

....edit- make sure these hammers are in alignment as a first check.

I had such a similar problem too some weeks ago and there was simply something fallen in there and damped the strings. Look closely at everything first.

The dampers are wide open. I suspect if there is sufficient down bearing. The bridge may be lightly uneven. However, will check it again with magnifier after six months, when I go to tune it again.

It is not likely to be downbearing. More likely something against the strings, or bad strings. Try twisting the offenders.

Plus, if only 7 years old it's under warranty. Contact dealer or manufacturer.
