I'm in! Heard about this from Allysia Van Betuw over at PianoTV.net. Sounds like great fun, especially for a super beginner like me (Been playing since 5. January this year.
I've learned three pieces so far: 1. Little Waterfall by Allysia 2. Walking - From First Term at the Piano, Sz. 53 - Béla Bartók 3. From Now On - From Marriage of Figaro, K. 492 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Hi! After I watched PianoTV's video, I decided to take my chance and I also want to participate in this challenge.
Right now I only manage to learn one piece. 1- Valse de L'adieu op.69-1 by Chopin

Count me in! I’m a beginner, but I hope I can complete this challenge. This year I’m inscribed on a music school here in Rio, and together with my personal practice (close to what I’ve already been doing, learning a few of Yann Tiersen’s pieces) now with 40 pieces to learn, I believe my technique will improve in a very beautiful way (all efforts necessary). Thank you, and Allysia from PianoTV, so much, for this challenge wouldn’t be, for me, without you! Now, off to work!

Really loved the final fantasy piece, great for learning quick accurate hand movements. It’s so simple but still has a dreamy feeling to it. Great for beginners.

Another Tim Richards piece from me. I am working on other pieces too, so I'll have some variety in the list soon I hope! Working through the exercise piece in this book gels really well with this challenge for me. This one was good fun, and the improv section came together more easily this time than in the first piece (as with that, the first section is as written on the sheet, the next section is improv in the RH, then the opening section repeats) 1. Blue Third Blues - Tim Richards 2. New Orleans Triplet Workout - Tim Richards 3. Five Finger Blues - Tim Richards linkListening to your piece I'm really tempted to start that book too, but I think I'll wait for a while, I've already started too much pieces that I want to finish, but it sounds so good. Great that you have fun with it!

I bought his "Exploring Jazz Piano 1" book but then I read the Amazon reviews and people recommend doing his Blues book first.

Please sign me up as well!
I am a beginner adult piano player and I arrived here by following Allysia from PianoTV.
Currently, I am working on the Adult Piano Adventures Volume 2(by Nancy and Randal Faber), which is also recommended by Allysia.
So far in January, I have learned the following pieces:
1. Malaguena (traditional, arranged) 2. Symphony #40 by W.A. Mozart (from the Big Book of Beginner's Piano Classics by Bergerac and David Dutkanicz) 3. Long Long Ago by Thomas Bayly.
I am looking forward to this challenge (40 is really a LOT for me).

I bought his "Exploring Jazz Piano 1" book but then I read the Amazon reviews and people recommend doing his Blues book first. Yes, it is! Like you I first bought Exploring Jazz Piano, and never really did much with it, then bought this one as so many have recommended. I didn't do much with it either for a good while. Needless to say it's not a magic bullet and unless you put a lot of work in it won't get you far. So the lightbulb moment for me was linking it with this challenge, and so far so good. I think it's still going to be a leap to get from playing these pieces (even with the improv sections) to properly "improvising blues piano", but I'm aiming to stick with it for a while, and we'll see where I get.

After being very sick with the stomach flu for a few weeks I have finally managed to record my first piece for the year. Still need to figure out some better recording settings for the piano but posting this for now. Had background drum track playing through a Bluetooth speaker. 1 - Bear Dance, Christopher Norton, Christopher Norton Connections 1. #1 Bear Dance
