Driving home in the rain the other day, I was stuck behind a car whose name could be read two ways. So I made up this riddle. The car in question is slightly obscure, and my riddle may be slightly (if not completely) awful. So be warned..!

I am a butcher, a curer of meats.

I have a car that's driven many streets.

I won't tell you its name,

'though you must guess the same.

All I'll reveal, for your thank(s)

Is that, some days, I pickle or salt a lamb shank.

What car do I have?

What country were you in when you saw this mystery car?

The USA, but could have been in Canada and parts of China too.

But only, most likely, if I was listening to not "Life on Mars", but perhaps "Magic Dance".

That was a pretty good guess! But not quite correct. I will see if anyone else notices this and takes a guess, otherwise I will tell you the answer in a day or two.

How about Lamb-or-ghini?

I'm in Australia, so maybe we don't get the car you saw. For example. I have an Audi SQ7, and I know this model is not available in USA. Your loss!

Hi CharlesXX, Your answer was great! Perhaps even better than my corny one, which is:

Key sentences:

I am a butcher, a curer of meats.

Is that, some days, I pickle or salt a lamb shank.

Interpretations:

A curer (of meats) = Acurer

I Pickle or salt a = I cure a (=, again, Acurer)

Lamb shank
= the end of a leg of lamb or a leg end = legend

= Acurer Legend

Oh, and the music reference (if I was listening to not "Life on Mars", but perhaps "Magic Dance".) refers to the tv series "Life on Mars" where the protagonist goes back to 70's after a car crash. Bowie's song "Life on Mars" was released in 1971. My Bowie song reference, "Magic Dance" was released in 1986, the same year the Acurer Legend came on the market.
