Not sure if you are aware, but Kawai just launched new CA98/78 and MP11SE/MP7SE a few months ago. It is unlikely there will be any new CA/MP series pianos at NAAM 2018.

I also though so Osho.
But as a soon-to-buy ES8, which has a life span of almost 3 years now, I think maybe it should be best to wait and see if there is any new ES model being released or not. Dont you think ?

I have a vague recollection that some new things would be announced at or around NAMM for some reason, and it was James who said it quite a while ago, perhaps I am a wrong, it could be some follow up model to the NOVUS or something like that. Clearly, my hope of a VPC2 coming was readily poo pooed when he recently said something along the lines of

"I expect the VPC1 will be updated at some point, but I am not aware of any immediate plans to do so"

There again, often new models are already announced beforehand, I don't ever recall Kawai CA series announced at NAMM in the past, though they were fairly new, it was already public knowledge by then.

Who knows there may be some surprises in store smile Please don't let NAMM be an entire bore this year. Last year was underwhelming for pianos as far as I recall, nothing that I remember that had a wow moment from what I saw with some searches on youtube at the time, there were more interesting innovations elsewhere.

The word "immediate" can be deceiving.

In German it sounds exactly that same. My guess is the OP might be German.

I'm still waiting for Kawai to upgrade the MP8 / MP8 mkII with something better that could be considered a true replacement for it - with wooden keys AND full 256 sound library - because neither MP10, MP7, MP11, MP7SE, or MP11SE individually can fill those shoes...

Could instead buy the new Kaway MP7SE with a couple of monitors (link) = latest tech + better sound than ES8

Hi Lolatu. I thought about it yes. But having built in speakers is a great advantage to me since I will only have to push ONE button to start playing on the keyboard. smile
No audio interfaces nor speakers to turn on each time I want to play, you see?

I have been testing the iloud vs my Presonus E5 and I can report that the base register lower than 50Hz (G1/G1#) do sound softer.
My understanding is that the DSP circuit -that is in charge for the perfect flat frequency response- on the iloud must limit the output to 50Hz to protect the 3" driver from blowing out.
The iloud is still a great set for music listening due to its size and quality of sound it produces, but just not my first choice for playing software pianos unless I have to travel or have no space around my keyboards..
Its bluetooth connection also adds an extra to its versatility.
I'll keep it next to my Presonus E5 to have an A/B comparison as studio monitors.

FWIW, no audio interface is needed at all with such a setup if you are using build in sounds. Plug monitors into piano, that's it and leave it like that. Many monitors have an autopower on feature when you leave them plugged in, both pairs I own do, so there is nothing extra you have to do. Your startup procedure will still be the same, switch on piano, that's it, away you go.
