Looking for a blog, channel, or site that is informative and dives deep into classical music topics without being a lecture course or a "how to play piano" article. More like a historical context or classical music news site. Any help?

Stephen Hough, an intelligent, thinking and highly literate pianist, has a blog that many recommend.

Hough's blog doesn't seem to be working at the moment but I'm looking for something like that (or how you described his blog, since I cannot read it presently.).

You might find this interesting: www.crosseyedpianist.com

Over the past couple or years since I signed up to receive its blogs, I've read several reviews of piano recitals, interviews with pianists, a five-day conference on performance anxiety where several well-known classical musicians contributed etc.

"I don't play accurately - anyone can play accurately - but I play with wonderful expression. As far as the piano is concerned, sentiment is my forte. I keep science for Life."

If you're open to podcasts, there's a few good ones:

BBC's Composer of the Week (don't think you can download unless you live in the UK, but you can stream the last few weeks of episodes from the BBC's website)

These you can download from Itunes and probably elsewhere:

Composers Datebook (two minute "this day in music history"-type segments)
New Classical Tracks with Julie Amacher (interviews)
