jazztpt, like, like, like C major, so romantic, easily recognizable tune. And the citation of "Jingle Bells" at the end - I have heard that ending of "Have yourself..." before but cannot remember who played it that way.
Here is a piece of classical Christmas music I recorded and uploaded on the IMSLP one year ago. "Chanteurs de Noel" ("Christmas Singers") by the Russian composer Sergey Lyapunov (in the succession of Liszt) reflects the solemn mood of the season.

Hi, Pianist685 -- Just a quick note to let you know that I posted the entire Lyapunov "Svyatki" here on PW a few years back -- you can probably find it in the archives, if you're interested. It's always fascinating to me to listen to other "takes" on unfamiliar pieces -- your conception is gentler in tone than my own, which is far more raw-boned Russian. Great to hear another perspective -- thanks for sharing it!

Hi, Constantin! I had originally posted "Svyatki" in the Members' Recording section of the Piano Corner Forum a couple of years back. When I checked that Forum, I realized that the past threads only extended about 9 months back. So then I just now re-posted that same recording of Svyatki for your listening pleasure (and hopefully others). I think it's just a great Suite - I like all four pieces in their various ways, but particularly like the last one, "Kolyada".
As far as your question is concerned, I think your diagnosis of how to play the staccato directive in the third piece is exactly correct. Lyapunov notated this quite precisely within the context of the piece, and his music is telling me that he wants very slight spaces between each note at those points -- and I can "hear" this clear as a bell in my mind's eye. I thought your handling of this section in your rendition was very appropriate, although I personally hear a little sharper rhythmic incisiveness in that section.

Here is a 30 minute Medley of Christmas carols I shared on Members' Recording section of the Pianist Corner Forum a few years ago. They are mostly Jazz arrangements of standard Carols by various arrangers.

Well, "funny" is perhaps not the proper word, it could be understood in a negative way. I meant "nice" or "cheerful".
