A pair is currently on Thanksgiving sales in the US for $199.
I'll give a try and see how they compare to my Presonus E5

An entertaining review of the iLoud micro monitors by an engineer.

When I first post this message there were 20 sets in stock at amazon.
Now it's down to 8...
Hopefully we won't be disappointed.
Will update soon with my impression next week

I have those speakers, they are very good.

However the great reviews are more down to the small size.
For such a small speaker they have clarity, surprisingly decent bass and they look nice too.

However if budget is important then I suspect one can get an equally good sound from slightly cheaper speakers, which are bigger and less stylish.

Note: Think the recommended retail price is £299, so 199 dollars a good price, no wonder they are selling well.

Computer speakers are not a good choice for a piano.
Yes, these are at the high end of the range for PC speakers, and they're better than nothing.
But if you have a really good piano then its sound would be better served by better speakers.

I'm duplicating a post I made earlier today in another speaker discussion thread: zzounds.com has the JBL LSR305's on sale for $99.99 each.

JBL also on sales at amazon for $99.
Sounds for me similar the ES5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DfhioKq68Y
And just listen to this I think the iloud also in the same league, albeit much smaller size: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTabG5txQUw
Looking forward to test the iloud.
Mine will arrive this Monday smile

That's a funny video.
It wants you to listen to sound from these speakers ...
... which sound was then recorded ...
... to be played back through your speakers.

That is ... "What do these speakers sound like through your speakers?"

And they call that a test/demo! smile frown

I hope you guys have better luck with the iLouds than I did. I tried a pair and I was unimpressed; for the same price you can get a pair of KRK Rokit 5's or JBL 305's which are much better. I returned my ILouds for a refund.

It's relative of course: you would need to know how one of these speakers sounds to you. Then you might be able to guess how the other speakers in comparison may sound like.
In my case I already have the Presonus ES5 so if one sound similar then I know it's good, at least worth a try smile

Don't forget to revisit PianoManChuck's thorough review of iLouds. It's a great review for how you intend to use them.
