RD-2000 question: currently I am using the line outs from the rd2000 to record in reaper stereo tracks of internal sound.
If I read correctly, the ability to stream sounds USB is possible, how do I get that to my DAW (reaper) for recording? Would be nice to free up the analog inputs on my interfcae

I suppose the RD2000 can send audio to the PC through the USB port. You need to install a RD2000 driver. Then Reaper should see the RD2000 either as an ASIO driver (low latency), or as a WASAPI sound card. You select this driver and then you are able to record the Roland.
Reaper can only select one driver. Then the playback would be sent to the RD2000.
ASIO4ALL can be a installed and chosen. This pseudo driver can make 2 cards seen as one by Reaper.

rd2000 driver installed, works great for midi, reaper sees "rd2000" and rd2000 midi in"...ive tried everything else in the list for USB audio but no go...

I just took delivery of my RD-2000 yesterday.
Ok.. I'm trying to get to terms with the OS and hierarchy.
Lets say I tweak the eq settings on the S01 Stage Grand. I want to save it. Am I understanding correctly that the ONLY place to save that new 'tone' is a program (of which the board has 300)? Am I understanding correctly? And I can have up to 8 'tones' per program to use as individual tones or layers? But if I want to use the individual, edited 'tone' in multiple different programs, it would need to be in a program by itself?
Do I have my head around this?

Not too dumb at all. Perfectly reasonable question. I can't help you because I don't have an RD-2000 but there must be guys here who know the answer. Does the manual not help?

Not dumb question though a specific thread would be better. I see you posted also on Facebook.
I am lazy, for the time being I used scenes to store sounds but, as far as I can tell, programs are way to go. As for copying the sound from a zone, I am not sure it is possible but I would not discard it either. RD2000 is a complex piece of equipment and the manual is barely sufficient to cover the basics (most of which can be figured out without manual).
I have seen some posts with hints in Roland Clan forum and I just found you posted there too. So, you have no option other than being patient or figuring it out (if ever possible) and post whatever you find that could be useful.

Afterthought: while using scenes (IIRC) there are some situations where the zones look "scrambled", that is, a mixture of two programs when I select some with the wheel. When I have time I will try to reproduce it and see if I can do something similar to what you are asking.

GREAT question actually. I think it's just a matter of PW being a "piano playing" forum, so you probably don't have as many people here who own an RD-2000 and mess with controls relating to set lists and multiple memories, who would be able to give you a good answer. It might be better to search forums more dedicated to keyboard/gigging musicians, like Keyboard Corner?

GREAT question actually. I think it's just a matter of PW being a "piano playing" forum, so you probably don't have as many people here who own an RD-2000 and mess with controls relating to set lists and multiple memories, who would be able to give you a good answer. It might be better to search forums more dedicated to keyboard/gigging musicians, like Keyboard Corner? The forum is named "Digital Pianos - Synths & Keyboards". RD2000 fits the first and is in between the second and definetely fits the third.  Though sometimes I think this forum should be named "Kawai DP and other stuff".

Worthy upgrade from RD-700NX? Or should I just keep banging on the 700NX? No pressing need. As an electronics engineer ... man, it seems like dinosaur tech. I sold the CP-5 last year, miss the on-board midi recording and integrated music stand.

Being this is my first portable keyboard setup, I do have some questions regarding my RD-2000?
I have it hooked up to a single Bose L1 II system/B2 bass, which is behind me and eight foot away as per speaker recommendations.
Volume on the Bose is set to half. Which leads to my question on whether you have the master volume on the 2000 at max and adjust volume using the equalizer, or is there a proper way to setup your volume parameters. Thanks for the help, and I hope I phrased my question correctly.

First, I try to have all my sounds on the RD 2000 closely matched in volume loudness regardless of the volume setting.
I use a mixer in my setup and make sure I come nowhere close to 'red'. I don't know if I would max out the volume of the RD 2000 though.

RD-2000 UPDATE. My RD-2000 has started behaving oddly on several keys. Here is what is happening. When you rapidly repeat a note on several keys, the MIDI velocity jumps up rapidly, and the note sounds out at full 127 quite abruptly. This happens over MIDI, and with internal sounds, and seems to be something related to the triple sensor perhaps?
As you can imagine, playing gospel piano and blues licks very quickly, this is a serious thing and ruins the song or recording!
One reason I bought this from Sweetwater, is the response they had to my email explaining this (and video showing it).
As soon as I send the RD-2000 back to them (they are paying shipping) then they are sending me a Nord Piano 3. I'm excited, but dang it... the saga continues!
Hello! First post. Has the issue I have quoted been fixed during the last year? I am asking because I'm interested in getting the RD-2000. I was looking through system update release notes and could not find anything about this.

Hello folks quick question. I have an Rd700NX. I played it so much (and love it) I have worn some pits in the white keys. How does the RD 2000 woden keys stand up to constant use? I am about to buy.

I think I might have found an undocumented feature of the RD 2000.
If you're using the Rhythm \ Song feature and depress the Rhythm \ Song button for a second or so, a Volume window will pop up. (You can also press that Rhythm \ Song button and then press Shift as well for the same function.)
I've looked through the manual and have not found this. I inadvertently stumbled upon this. (With the CP5 there were buttons that had different functions depending if you made a quick depress or held the button down a little longer. That took me a while to figure out ... and that information was buried in the manual when it should have been in bold.) That's a handy tip thank you. I just found it also on my RD700NX! Maybe other Rolands too!

I have the 2000 only a few months and it has some minor issues with the keys...and it's never left home...
